Not rumor or top secret tech (or is it?!), but all this SS talk got me excited... Fellow Luddites rejoice. $5 in hardware and proper reuse of a destroyed derailleur: Keeping it about tech, though, this little contraption really made me want to try the Lal Supre Drive. I hope the Supre Drive or similar concept shows back up in the future.

youtube home page blessed me with an actual creator today. just a good ol fashion garage tinkering video with a dash of 'how its made' type content to add context to his vid. i miss stuff like this. and it sucks to know this stuff is out there but barely getting recommended and instead the home page just shows red bull stuff and comedy skit creators (or just seth, which is cool but hes not the ONLY dude tinkerin)

$381? This is for blinglespeeds, not singlespeeds.

Does periodically dunking my head in a stream and squishing/head banging out all the excess water mid ride count? But seriously, I try to wash/rinse the helmet after each ride. If it's still wet for next ride at least it's just water and not super concentrated salty head juice.

I don't think anyone who understands the basics of gearboxes or derailleurs expects them to be a good fit for XC bikes in the foreseeable future.

Another Transmission compatible solution is the Ratio Technology Mech. I've got one on long-term test for Vital with a review dropping later this year.

I only pedal the TQ60 around for test rides when working on it as it's much too small for me and I don't want to reset the suspension. Power feels good, it's easy to get the bike computer to say it's assisting me right at 390watts plus my watts, and it always feels very natural and quiet to ride. In the low setting I have to use the screen to figure out if it's even assisting me or not. If it's turned off, you might as well be pedaling a bike. Can't tell at all except for the extra weight...

I just purchased a new Fuel EX+ so my gf could manage climbs with me when I'm on my Smuggler. It was heavily discounted from $8700 to $6K and my electric company gave me a $600 rebate to boot! The TQ60 is an amazing motor system in terms of sound and efficiency and it's appropriate for my gf weighing 105# trail riding. The bike will also soon only weigh 41#s, something I could not accomplish with any decent full power bike. That said, it's pretty well known the new top dog motor system is soon to be released, it's a...

I've tested a lot of these. The Intend wasn't an option when I got my Flash, but... DSD RUNT - I ran this on a Pike and couldn't get it linear enough. It felt like it spiked a lot and didn't have the volume of the Manitou implementation. It was better than stock, but I didn't get along with it. OTOH I know folks running this on their 38/Zeb and love it, so it may just be a combination of lower volume in the Pike and generally not getting along with the Pike. I've talked to a few others who...

I've had my belt come of a few times in 2 years of general riding without "extreme" mud conditions. All were due to sticks kicking up and lodging between the belt and rear cog. I can see how a bunch of thick mud can buildup from coasting downhill and derail it. I honestly think that if the Gates sponsorships weren't...

I'm dealing with the dreaded chain not seating/ skipping on the 3rd cog issue on my SO's bike with T90. Shifts great across the range then the ramps on the 3rd cog are too wide or cassette was manufactured out of tolerance spacing. Looking into a cassette warranty now. I find the new T type setup scheme to be more...

I miss Lars in my life. This is a lovely review. A pretty bike that doesn’t fit me, but oh, to have Lars back! Littermag lives.

Why haven't we seen more bikes with that Lal Supre Drive? I'd much rather have that than gear box or regular derailleur if I could have something that wasn't a short travel bike or a 40 lb nicolai.
