12/10/2025 3:18pm Just listening to the podcast, 2 more years on Pivot for Roger. Congratulations to him, great news! I can't wait to see what he can do next year with a full pre season of prep.

10/14/2025 8:13am Apparently I opened an angry can of worms with my original comment... But just so it's clear: he missed finals in Loudenvielle because of wheel failures in both Q1 and Q2. I know riders break stuff, and some tracks are worse than others, but that just seems like a completely unacceptable mechanicals rate on that track in particular. All I'm saying is his team should spend a considerable amount of the off season testing proto compounds/inserts/rims/glue/blowtorches/tubular tech so they would have a consistent podium rider.

10/13/2025 7:55pm Ok here is my unified semi-conspiracy theory that explains the proto V10, Jackson Goldstone's bike weights, the mysterious lack of a Specialized Enduro, the development journey of the Demo, lagging enduro enthusiasm from bike companies in general, and even the Orbea Rallon. Manufacturers think that e-bikes are the future and are orienting themselves toward dedicating a majority of their efforts toward producing them. They have the following assumptions about e-bikes: -E-bikes have shown that the weight of the motor under the bottom bracket can actually play a positive role in how a bike handles. It drives the front tire into...

9/30/2025 3:15pm Agreed, I've had good luck them. I'll add: if they're good enough for the Norco factory/Gracey, they are good enough for me.

8/25/2025 9:58am I was thinking about the moto comparison too. Maybe it could help in that arena but hasn't been tried yet? One challenge that comes to mind is how the bar end would play with a twist throttle. Seems like it'd rub the heck out of your throttle hand and/or create a pinch point that could cause the throttle tube to...

8/14/2025 1:22pm The rules for DH are almost as simple as saying that whoever rides a bike from the top to the bottom fastest while staying in the track limits wins, and I love it. Any type of hyper specific equipment rules like those in road racing or ski racing just limits the innovation that's required to be the fastest. If somebody wants to wear ankle weights or put oobleck in their tires because they think it's better, then they should let them. Let the fastest rider win. Shake weight in the steerer tube? Sure. Hamster bottle for the rear brake? Have...

7/10/2025 9:59am Agreed 100% - La Thuile set the bar quite high. Hopefully a good example for future venues and tracks!

7/10/2025 9:58am 🥱 This track looks fun to ride, but after a few years of watching riders race 90% of the same track and same lines, my motivation to tune in this weekend is way lower than other rounds. It doesn't help that the track is so one lined and times are so tight, that the broadcast gets super monotonous IMO as it's hard to distinguish when someone is on a good run. I haven't seen this track in person and don't know the constraints of the hillside, but why not move the poles over a few feet in more sections? Couldn't...

cameron.hoefer Added a reply to Have We Been Measuring Sag Wrong? (and how to fix it...)
6/16/2025 2:27pm I have the DRC tool for measuring sag on my moto while solo. I think these are still too much money, but it's a lot better than the $150+ for the Slacker tool. Accomplishes the same thing and is $40. https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/drc-sag-checker-p

6/12/2025 11:43am I'm at Leogang this weekend and wanted to get a sense of how widely pedal kickback devices have been adopted by World Cuppers, along with all the other wild accessories like TMD's/shakeweights, electronics, gearboxes, and more. So out of curiosity and as a service to my fellow nerds, I stood at the top of Q1 today and counted all the devices I could. Note that certain devices were almost certainly undercounted, like shakeweights, added mass, and fancy chainring devices like Ochain or Rimpact (drivetrains were facing away from me in the starting lineup). There were 20 bikes total where I...

5/19/2025 1:58pm Fox knows that if you really want an USD fork you will deal with the hub issue one way or another. Can’t imagine an actual Fox USD fork customer saying “oh no nevermind I am obsessed with my current front hub and I am also too poor for a wheel build

5/19/2025 1:58pm Quoting Roost here to keep it in line, but not calling you out specifically because so much talk on DH hubs. Here is the thing... any rider purchasing this fork (by itself or on a bike) will be running hubs that can do both 15 and 20mm boost spacing. This isnt a new thing to have a convertibale hoba and most (couple small outliers) 15mm x110 boost hubs can convert to 20 mm with an endcap swap. This isn't a major chang in anyones hub and usually shouldnt require a relace or anything like that. Fox didnt go with some...

4/3/2025 4:58pm I mean... the current Levo battery is removable with a 6mm allen in about 30 seconds... a quicker system would be nice but I wouldn't call it not removable as-is.
