Switzerland is probably not the country to use when extrapolating out to the rest of the world on any front. It’s nice that you reside there and that it’s your lived experience, but how things work for the Swiss is not really how things work for anyone else.

I am more confident by the day that you are going to be surprised by the bike he is racing next season.

I have a 13 year old MacBook that doesn’t need much work ever, but when it does, there is no question if they will fix it or not. The only thing that can’t happen now is updating the OS. You guys are being dramatic and honestly sound like what is wrong with so many bike shops. Treat people like people, each customer bike is unique, manage expectations, and actually try a bit to help someone out. Yes, don’t work on Chinese E bike motors, but to have a sign saying No bikes Older than 8 years? Insane. Who’s to say...

You’re right, I should have been more precise with my wording. The Pro’s Closet didn’t technically file for bankruptcy (as far as I know), but by all practical measures, it was in that territory (likely Chapter 7 rather than 13). I also forgot they raised over $90M, which makes the whole story even more illustrative. Not that it matters, and its total semantics, but the reason I phrased it that way is because the company still exists in nearly the same form, same region (Boulder/Northern Front Range), many of the same employees, and even the same website. It’s not the...

People are complex, and we often don’t know the full story, but I also feel like if a person was that bad it generally comes out eventually. It seems like for the most part Phelps is/was regarded highly within skateboarding both in life and death. Someone would’ve made a documentary by now if he was a ‘horrible’ person I would...

Well, call me a moron, but this 6’ 1” large frame riding person is going to buy this totally unrideable bike. I look forward to looping out, my front wheel washing on every turn, lack of stability over 8 mph, and curling up in the fetal position in the middle of every ride. I’ll report back.

Just a heads up, Fox Factory and GoPro both report results tonight. I'll do my best to aggregate results, listen to conference calls (at least with Fox) and put a little post together. Cheers!

Buckets Up Added a comment about press release Öhlins Unveils New Visual Identity

11/5/2025 6:45am
I had to come back to this. As someone with no ‘formal’ training in branding, but someone who pays close attention and thinks about it a lot, I find it interesting how big marketing firms (I’m assuming Öhlins paid an outside firm) are often so far behind actual trends in certain spaces. At absolute best they ride just behind the crest of a wave and they are definitely never out front. This rebrand might’ve fit better in a more tech oriented arena, but mtb (at least historically, maybe e-bikes will change this) draws way more influence from places like skateboarding...

This is disappointing. I don't know why companies insist on taking their iconic logos and brand recognition and then throwing them in the trash. If it ain't broke then don't fix it! I will miss that iconic Ö and the yellow and blue (swedish colors).

New logo and font looks like trash. The old Ohlins branding is iconic and timeless. Whoever greenlit this redesign should be fired.
