That logo is bad, and Öhlins should feel bad for using it.

This is cool detail and makes my interaction with Specialized last year even more aggravating. The Status frame is only advertised as ASTM Cat 4 (i.e., no dual crown), yet they sell a complete version of the bike with a dual crown while advertising its ability to jump and ‘Freeride’. I called them on multiple occasions to try and figure...

Nice! I love a good Frankenbike, and I promise we're laughing with you, not at you.

For high frequency loads it can. AFAIK Hucking to flat or nose casing a jump would be a low frequency load and it would be reasonable to approximate it as static and assume that full force is transferred.

If you draw a free body diagram you’ll find that the forces are the same for a given A2C length. Stiffness doesn’t change forces applied. Dual crown rated mostly means that it won’t instantly be destroyed if a fork bumper hits the side of the frame.

I've used both the cane creek 5mm and the MRP 10mm crown race with a cane creek headset on a yeti sb150 with great results. Only downside is the crown race in both cases doesn't have a rubber lip to seal the bearing. Wasn't a big deal where I live in SW CO, but if you live in a muddy place ya might want a fender on the fork to minimize spray on the lower headset bearing.

Yes. It would be going on a rigid single speed bike. This is a bit of a Franken-bike project trying to chase an old Unit build that I never should have sold. I’ve attached a photo of that bike below so you all can laugh at me. I am looking at a couple options for the frame but they all...

Thank you both for the ideas. Again I need a 44EC Lower and I’d like to add 10mm to the stack-up height. It looks like Works makes reach adjust but nothing to add height. Pinner only has a 56mm headtube size stock, but may be able to custom make a 44mm. I’ll reach out. If any one else knows of...

Wolftooth used to make lower headset cups, both ZS and EC that were designed to increase height by 10mm effectively helping adjust or dial in axle to crown height for weird builds. They have since stopped making these. Is anybody aware of anyone else doing this? Specifically for my needs, I need an EC44 version with the ability to run...

I run which ever works best. In my opinion I do not think there’s one brand with the best fork and shock on the market. Different brands that make the best shock and best fork.

@sethimus @Evil96 @CascadeComponents I love, like love-love, that someone with an engineering background (and seemingly a degree) and a wealth of manufacturing experience provided factual mathematical evidence, and it has been refuted by "I believe the manufacturer of this shiny new thing I bought", like conformation bias doesnt exist or something.... There's a quote about facts and opinions that I'm trying to remember here...... it'll come to me....

It was Silhouette Eyeware. My friend Joey used to do their add work and team stuff. I got to do a show for the opening of their new corporate headquarters in New York with Hans Rey, Cam McCall, Geoff Gullivich and Garen Becker.

That would be amazing. Unfortunately the original Adidas googles weren’t actually under the Adidas umbrella but simply a licensing agreement with a third party eyewear company to use the name.

Seems odd they would come back to Utah a second time. Though it would be cool if they resurrected the old NORBA course at Deer Valley.
