In honor of the 1000th page, we should vote on the best meme of 2025: 👍🏻 for “Crab” 👎🏻 for “6-7” edit: Carcinization is the antithesis of innovation. Maybe we should keep crab talk on the crab talk forum and keep this thread focused on MTB tech rumors and/or innovation.

I appreciate what you have to say, but being a moderator doesn't mean wielding a club to bash people when they post something when they think it is wrong. It is a larger picture that must be taken into account. And I am sure there are times when the moderators of these forums want to say something, but are unable to in order to keep the peace and not disrupt the flow that takes place within these digital pages. Being moderator is a horrible position to be in as you have to answer to ownership, management, and the consumer. In...

As others have shared in this thread, the unknown six bar bike was spotted all the way back in 2023, before the newest Yeti bikes with the latest cable ports launched. To my eyes, the cable ports on that new mystery prototype are a dead ringer for those old SB165 cable ports. SARCASM MODE ENGAGED: Did you even read the thread before posting? Disappointing.

I re-read this post and couldn't understand what you were trying to say. Not to mention your response seems filled with unnecessary vitriol over someone just mentioning a persons name. Judging by your response I can only assume that you're harboring some deep seeded PTSD from him crushing you at the local beer league endubro. Which I do personally feel like that might be worth seeking some help for as it's never good to cary such such a burden mentally. All that besides, I'm glad you feel like Evil's 435 rear center is what you want in a size XL...

435 chainstay across the board... Brian Cahal has left the chat

Thanks for the chatter. Medium with 450 stays ordered. I figured if it could be a lighter, more playful version of the Range, then it’s a huge win. The fact that it is mullet, lighter, and not high pivot but it starts with very similar length chainstays and has low AS, means I should like it a lot. Now to wait until spring… I’m a fan of having competent, intuitive bikes that allow you to have fun while going really fast. Probably a result of where I ride and my skill level.

Sure thing. That said, I appreciate @mickey raising the broader implications. We all know there’s no crystal ball when it comes to geopolitics, even the most experienced and “in the know” get it wrong. I’m less interested in what Joe or Palmer specifically think and more interested in the overarching impact, which I believe was the real tie-in to this thread. You could debate the “if” and “when” of this topic for days, citing Jeffrey Michaels, Bonnie Glaser, Oriana Skylar Mastro, and a dozen others... and still come to no meaningful conclusion. Also, calling Palmer a “mediocre electrical engineer” is...

Oh ok sweet as, so you have an issue with them following a completely normal distribution model? Were you planning on shipping it back to canada for a service every time as well? I normally wouldn't engage here but needed to clarify - The european distributors are the ones carrying shocks, parts and tools to make sure you're looked after in a reasonable time frame and the pricing is often dictated by certain things outside of their control. If that makes them too expensive for you then thats cool - you're welcome to get something locally produced if saving money...

Watched it last night, good follow up video and i do agree with you. I ran a 180mm boxxer on my megatower 1 for a short period of time and it was awesome. At that time, I measured the 180mm boxxer to have pretty much the same axle to crown as the 170mm zeb and the difference in flex/bushing bind was noticeable under extreme duress. I did notice the steering limiting effect of the dual crown on 3-4 trails I ride regularly that had excessive switchbacks (san juan trail in socal for those that know). That being said, with some...

Felt this was a fitting place to post my thoughts on running a Boxxer on a Spire. Spoiler Alert: Its the best setup I've run thus far. I genuinely don't understand why we don't see this more often, from ~160-170mm on up. Especially on e-bikes. I suppose price is part of it, but my real guess is what I'm going to call "mimesis"; we all broadly follow more than we lead. And breaking convention is hard.

It’s clear some of you have never truly nuked yourself in crash. It can take hours for the severity and complete picture of what you hurt and how bad to set it. Couple that with adrenaline and elite level racing and you might not know for hours. As stuff progresses, it can become clear very quick that you need to get checked for something that might’ve seemed okay initially. Loic has never shown anything put respect and professionalism, I’m sure there was a reason for everything that transpired.

Banned for what? Because they are facing financial troubles? I think it’s time to cool down for some of us here. All riders are apparently signed to new teams, their team manager Gunnar did a hell of a job getting the riders through these final rounds and none of the customers are facing financial loss. If you take into account the strict German regulations on insolvency this all ended up pretty much as good as it possibly could
