Never had my heart in my throat watching split times refresh... Ollie was faster at all splits until the last sector. Asa pulled back over a second it seems... What a dog of a racer. The ol slow starter. Very well played by the kid to keep the title in play (especially after a tough day yesterday).
There's so much time to gain over the whole track, vali gaining 2 seconds at the top and then Bouladou getting them back at the bottom is crazy. Womens race was one of the best I've ever watched and the men's is super tense

This is not to take anything away from Lisa, stoked for her to win, but that was all due to wind gusts.
So right now... If nothing were to change... it's 180 jordan and and 160 asa. And the margin can only get smaller so...
It's done right? Jordan needed nearly 100 points so... The kid did it?
Racers can slot between them, but also every racer that finishes ahead of both of them diminishes the margin gained or lost regardless.
A funny position to be in where... Asa would want more and more dudes to outright beat both of them to squash that margin until it's a sure thing. Just CHEERIN dudes on at that point. Smash it! lol

Agreed. Rewatch the slow-mo replay they showed of Lisa and Vali’s runs and you’ll see the trees moving in the background of Lisa’s run just as much as they were in Vali’s run. She still had to hit those jumps well to gain that time back.

Okay...haha. I don't need to feel sorry for Vali, just surprised the best rider in the field is suddenly badly casing easy jumps. I love racing and congrats to Asa! What a year of racing.
Probably unpopular opinion, but I think this placid course is a better track to watch than whistler was. Think it’s because the trees are more open at the top you see more track per camera shot and also as it’s not as steep it allows riders more opportunities to pull for gaps
I love the irony... That the broadcast was saying Finn could help his team mate by placing himself between them (not that it was likely a that point)... And of course it's Finn who is the ultimate rider to officially guarantee the title for Asa and guarantee second for Jordan lol. Oof
This year one of the big stories was the potential impact of the group of first year men's Elite riders. They delivered: 3 first year men in the top 8 of the standings, with one of them taking the overall
My prediction: Next year the first year women Elites could be just as big a story.

Careful, UCI-WB gonna come across this and say 'you know what, you're RIGHT' and axe juniors category entirely and just let a select few fast kids in an elite-only season. I'm already scared for prospective changes during the off season.

I to enjoy this track, Its a little more sensible, the risks of going so fast dont end a season.(yes last race but you get what i mean)
feel bad for LMS maybe not getting the credit he deserves for putting well over a second into 2nd on a track that has many riders apart by only a tenth.
like you have to go to... 9th place from 2nd? to get the same time gap LMS put on 2nd.
nearly the same gap from 2nd to 10th. as he put from 1st to 2nd. damn
Asa for the win! This track always seems to produce good racing, I'm sure Giant factory racing is a big fan. Boladou besting Vali in the wind was something, it looked possibly more windy for Boladous run. My big questions are, did Boladou have a dip in during her winners interview? Did Williams point at Asa when he came across the line or one of his coaches?
I hope we go back to snowshoe and don't return to Lake Placid, the builders did their best, but when nimbys get to veto track layout it's just frustrating.
Maybe now that Vail resorts has hosted a WC we can go to one of their US resorts?
Who was out there measuring the strength and direction of the gusts all the way down for both riders?
Edit: Some notes. Giant winning in the US is some irony considering what's transpired this year. And I was struck by how "Australian alpine resort" the track looked on race day. The dirt, the smooth rocks, the ski pistes...
Poor Vali. Wayyy too much of this track is out on the open piste.
Where's this Bouladou come from?
Only made 2 finals (including champs) in 2024. Struggled up and down in 2025, with a best of 6th. Otherwise 10-15th and missed 3 finals.
This year her worst finals is 11th, missed only 2 finals, a 5th, a 3rd, and now her first elite win.
"She's beginning to believe..." - Morpheus or something
(She only won a single juniors race, with a strong but not storming juniors career.)
Dropping this here from the saint over on the other site

Lisa giving Ric another opportunity to say Debut win. Jesus that gets on my nerves.
A debut win is a victory achieved in a person, team, or horse's very first competitive appearance, match, or race.
Man, I’m sweating right now. 😳

Yeah it’s pretty much decided
She would have had the same wind
Gusts tend to gust.
Actually amazing. This kid man. And Aletha is going to elites next year. Wow.
I saw an event video mention it but never got a clear answer. When was the last time a rookie won a title? Somebody said it was Nico. Crazy.

Oil Clark only .006 from splitting Asa and Jordan

Gutted for Pinky. Was really hoping for him to get his first win today. It's coming...

What a race and what a season!
McNab’s and Luke Meier-Smith’s runs were mental!!! Definitely bummed for Pink. Stoked for Asa. 🇺🇸
The points Wheel of Fortune was really manic this year! Imagine if they hadn’t figured out their boneheaded miscalculation until the very end…
And oh yeah, BRING BACK WARNER!!!

Big congrats to Neko Mullaly for everything he's done. Frameworks up there battling the big dogs and he Seems to be the perfect mentor for Asa.
Great listening to him on the Downtime podcast and when he was in the commentary booth last season
