9/30/2025 3:14am This is good to hear. I remember back in the late 80s, when lots of state offices just went ahead and shut mountain biking down in State Parks. Pennsylvania did this for sure, but I believe it was "a thing" in other states, as well, and in federal lands too. It was a combined effort of horse-back-riders, hikers, and birders, that basic closed access to many areas, and it took a decade before some of that started to roll-back. This woman's "the sky is falling" argument is illogical (it was a ski area already, duh), and out-of-time. In the age...

9/26/2025 1:56pm No, the balls genuinely run (rotate) on a layer of oil (even if greased, grease is just very thick oil at the end of the day for the purpose of this discussion) and technically do not come in contact with the races. If they do, you get wear, overheating, etc.

9/26/2025 6:40am While there is a minority of gravel bikers who would truly benefit just from getting a mtb. I think the majority do gravel because it’s a pretty safe form of exercise. Trek’s choices will make it a good bike for both parties. The more adventurous gravel riders hitting single track can run fatter tires and the less adventurous can just have something that rides a bit smoother/comfortable than a rigid bike.

9/24/2025 3:26pm Maxima plush 7wt - you can get small bottles of this pretty easily so it would be my first pick anyway. I like Motorex oils most of the time but RS shocks can be sensitive to viscosity so I probably wouldn't mess with that, especially when you are changing tune. Slick honey is great, use it for everything Soft jaws are crucial but you don't really need shaft clamps for an SDLX Air valve tool is the main thing Loctite 263 is also fine - not super critical but you can read loctites data sheets to check if they are...
