In case anyone's interested, here are the points awarded for 1st through 10th place in the Pro Downhill Series races (I think there are 5 races in the series):

1 - 50

2 - 46

3 - 44

4 - 42

5 - 41

6 - 40

7 - 39

8 - 38

9 - 37

10 - 36

And here's the money for 1st through 5th:

1st - $4000

2nd - $2000

3rd - $1000

4th - $750

5th - $500

(If I'm reading the 1st split times right, it looks like Anna Newkirk and Luca Shaw picked up the $500 Holeshot prizes for fastest first split times.)

Aletha Ostgaard has now won her last 5 races (and 8 of her last 14). She has been on the podium for each of those 14 races.

As someone on PB pointed out her prize money for 4 wins as a junior last season amounted to about $925. Slightly overshadowed by her pize money this weekend.

You have to feel for the UCI though, times are tough out there!

'27 Junior Women racing will likely be an exciting and highly competitive category. Consider that none of last season's P1 finishers moved up to Elite. I believe both Rosas, Aletha and Lina Frener will still be in Juniors. Add to that rumors of some highly competitive talent about to enter their first year. We may see races where any of the top six or seven qualifiers has a legit shot at P1. All to point out that this competitiveness for Ally at the junior level may put her in a better position when she moves to elite next year. As dominant as Vali was in her last junior season in 2019, she only had two consistent threats - Mille Johnset and Anna Newkirk.

…last years standings.

Eliana, Matilda, Rosa J. are already 18 by the end of 2025. So they move up to Elite in the 2026 season. Nevertheless the competition between Rosa Z., Lina and Aletha will be for sure thrilling and maybe some other female juniors found their pace in the offseason.

may be.. but remember some juniors dominating and breaking through on their first junior year, dont carry over the streak/pace into their 2nd year junior.. as well into elites.. many examples.. but for sure will be exiting..

I was wondering the same thing.  My assumption (based on what I've seen at US races over the past decade) is she was in town for some other testing (the weather in NC is so good right now!) and entered the race to feel some things out.  Maybe wasn't quite feeling it and decided to sit it out.  Fox has a headquarters close to Rock Creek and I wouldn't be surprised if she is doing testing with them at Rock Creek.

FYI for anyone who follows or is interested in the Monster Pro Downhill Series: The next race in the series is in mid-May at New Jersey's Mountain Creek Bike Park.

Last year at Mountain Creek, Aaron Gwin and Kailey Skelton won. In 2024 a couple of kids won: Asa Vermette and Erice Van Leuven.

Here's the replay of the 2025 race for anyone who wants a look at this track:

Any word on where the US Open will be this year? Still saying TBD on the Pro Downhill series website. I assumed (hoped) it would be at Killington again.

Seems odd they would come back to Utah a second time.

Though it would be cool if they resurrected the old NORBA course at Deer Valley.

You have to feel for the UCI though, times are tough out there!

As long as teams and racers keep quiet about their pay structure, it'll stay that way. I don't blame promoters.
Until racers get together and decide what they consider should be minimum payouts to drive across a country or across a continent to race, no race promoter is going to hunt a sponsor to cover that payout.
💸 You get what money you ask for. 💸

Pretty insane, a bit off topic, but a small regional US enduro series in the Carolina’s pays $830 1st $500 2nd and $335 for 3rd.  Gives good perspective on how much the uci is undercutting their racers.

The UCI rulebook has always put the heat on the event host and sponsors, the prize amount paid is the minimum allowed by teh roolz.

It's ironic, given that ESO were pushing the prize money parity for athletes of both sexes angle during the EWS that they aren't pushing for an amount closer to a living wage than the current pocket change (fluff and snotty tissue removed for budgeting reasons)

I know someone that made over $5k this season in wins at ESC enduros. Granted, she won almost all of them but still, that's comparable to what "world class events" are paying out.

Not at all. I think anyone paying attention expects he could win several this year.
