The 36 shares similar design cues to the 34 SL, especially on the arch. Fox claims an additional 17% torsional stiffness due to this arch design on the 34 SL - will the new 36 see an increase in stiffness as well? It's already a fairly stiff fork for most users/applications.

The 36 shares similar design cues to the 34 SL, especially on the arch. Fox claims an additional 17% torsional stiffness due to this arch design on the 34 SL - will the new 36 see an increase in stiffness as well? It's already a fairly stiff fork for most users/applications.
The holes increase airflow around the stanchion, aiding cooling and improving damping consistency by 11%.
As a side note, 80% of statistics are made up on the spot.

Apparently it is optimized for 120 to 140 mm of travel which could land it on beefed up downcountry rigs and short travel trail bikes. If the weight is similar then what would happen to the non-SL 34?

Personally I like this idea. As a larger rider (220lbs not including gear), I'm already running a 36 set to 140mm on my trail bike. Wouldn't mind the option to keep the stiffness and drop some weight. Like the 34 SL, I presume the 36SL will exist alongside non-SL versions of the 36 which would be available in travel configs longer than 140

Yeah mine broke at the hole for the bleeder screw on one side after a couple weeks. Never hit it on anything that I was aware of. Not a fan.
