I GUESS this is a tech rumor?

I just got this email from Sram (because I inquired about their app and site not recognizing the serial numbers of my products):

SRAM Rider Support (RockShox)

Hello DontWorryImAPilot,

We sincerely apologize for our delayed response and any inconvenience caused by recent issues affecting the RockShox Trailhead App, Product Registration, and the SRAM Service Hub Serial Lookup.

SRAM is experiencing an IT issue that has impacted operational capabilities in certain departments. We are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible and will provide regular updates as information allows.

In the meantime, please be aware that none of these resources will recognize serial numbers. Suspension products saved in your RockShox Trailhead Garage may also not be visible.

Please understand that SRAM Support Teams are also affected by this issue. As a result, they may be unable to assist with service questions, small parts replacement recommendations, suspension setup and tuning guidance, or general product identification until the IT issue is resolved.

If you have any questions unrelated to the above information, please respond to this message.

Otherwise, just sit tight and we'll notify you when there is more to share.

Kind regards,

The SRAM Rider Support Team

Bunch of pivot athletes and ambassadors in finale for something. Likely a new firebird launch.

This explains why Propain may be having issues getting my fork warrantied out as it's still pending SRAM's portal update.

Word from a lot of media is that the next 30~ days are going to be busy on this thread. Happy spring/sea otter season to all those who celebrate the relentless innovation we all don't really need!

So we're likely to see...

- Fox 34 / 36 + Float X2 / DH X2
- Specialized Levo w/ 100nm+ motor
- 2 new Yeti ebikes likely with Bosch
- Wireless XTR + updated brakes, maybe XT as well
- Mechanical SRAM Transmission

What else?

so it would seem that the new 34 SL is now the most direct competitor to the RS Sid.  The 32 is only available in tapered lowers (gravel) and step-cast, which I just noticed is targeted primarily for marathon XC.

I've had a few new fox products, including the one released today, in my hands over the last few weeks and while I'm not a fox fan boy, the feel and look of the new 34SL, -Redacted- and -Redacted- are certainly a bump up from the previous gen. It'll be interesting to see how they review. The 34SL is stupid light in your hand.

Here's to hoping it is not just a polished turd and their QC has been improved. Out of spec VVC, tight bushings, chassis alignment issues, too much grease in the air chamber etc Basically the stuff that makes many shiny new Fox forks feel like crap.

The SID has also adopted 35mm stanchions (except for the "SL" version). 32mm stanchions are slowly fading away as manufacturers figure out how to shave enough weight from wider-tubed forks to have their cake & eat it too.

If they would add hydraulic bottom out or something similar I’d consider running a dhx2, after experiencing that on ext and rockshox I won’t ride a coil without it.

$550 with I9 1/1 hubs if you back the Kickstarter. Another $150 after will be regular.

So if the 34sl has the speed holes, we can assume the 36 with the speed holes is also an SL? Hopefully this means fox do a beefed up 36 that can go to 180, and even more hopefully, rockshox come out with an update that makes the Lyrik follow suit. It's plenty stiff enough for 170-180 on a normal bike.

With compliance being all the rage atm, that would be very sensible. Offering a long travel fork for lighter riders with reasonable effort looks like a win in my book

Isn't kickstarter supposed to be for new, innovative products or companies? I don't think a middle of the road alloy wheelset from an existing company fits that description.

It has been shown that ideas (original intention for Kickstarter) don't do well on crowdfunding platforms, developed products ready to go where crowdfunding is used to pay for the production run are the ones that are successful. In most cases.
