When fox initially dropped the 38 to factory riders it was all non-kash for testing until race season. Something new on the way?
I haven't listened to the whole thing yet, but Jordi is on the latest Downtime podcast and said they have "a bunch of cool projects" this year, so maybe?
It could just be the photo quality (or lack of it) but it also looks like the fork has the older style square lower leg arch as opposed to the current rounded arch Fox has going on.
Also lines up with the sales Fox has had running across most products, and the confirmation of an updated Grip 2 damper.
The updates to the Grip 2 seem to address the biggest flaw. As you add compression damping the damper starts to spike and gets a harsh edge to impacts. I notice it, but I'm sensitive to it because of nerve damage in my wrists.
Definitely not the Blur rear end. But looks too big to be from a Tallboy.
It's simply the old Blur 2018-2021.

It's a whole new hub design that seems to have a lot of merits.

I’ve been on Onyx hubs for a couple years now and it’s really cool to have a silent hub. A bit unnerving at first, but now I’m not sure I could go back to a ratchet style hub. I would’ve liked to have heard his comparisons on those types of designs.
Grip2’s biggest flaw is that the HSC adjustment does nothing. Watch the Vorsprung video in the 38 if you don’t believe me. However you might want open up on the LSR because on the Grip2 too much will cause harshness as it acts as a choke/orifice on the mid valve the more you add.
Vorsprung are a bunch of clahns, ride the grip 2, the Hsc works. Theory doesn’t always match reality.
Agreed, I can definitely feel a difference in the HSC settings on my 38. Too little and the front end will feel more knifey and oversteer in hard cornering. Too much HSC and the front end doesn't settle and kind of understeers in hard cornering/ heavy load situations.
The point about rebound is moot IMO. My 38 even has the low rebound "traction tune" and I run it close to fully open. I have a factory 34 on a different bike, rebound is nearly fully open. I had a coil 40 on my old Glory, and I ran the rebound almost open on that too. Fox rebound damping is pretty heavy for the most part. As a bigger guy, I'm amazed that lighter riders can get their stuff to work good with stock tunes.
Vorsprung's Fox 38 commentary was based on dyno results.
Cuz dynos are the same as riding a fork, why would telemetry exist if everything could be modeled in a shop

Telemetry is just the dyno on exact track and weight load of the rider.

Peak Torque is sometimes a bit harsh, but overall is on point and has sensible explanations on stuff.
Also yes, very cool concept for a hub.
