3/30/2026 11:59am The 203 is a remanent of when we measured rotors in inches going back to the OG Hayes days. 203 = 8"

3/30/2026 11:57am A few snipes of tech rumors that I am going to steal from a few pinkbike's posts from today. I want to be respectful of their efforts/journalism, so I am providing a link to not be a douche, sorry @sspomer if that's not cool. Fox Live Valve neo x2, on seb's firebird from the 38 release article. This seems like a related, but different product to the neo adjacent version that was seen on the rallon rs release. This seems a lot more production ready and less of the bespoke, integrated system version that Orbea was leveraging. It makes me...

3/23/2026 9:44am My understanding is that manufacturers mostly build carbon frames from the ground up (as opposed to being assembled from pre-manufactured tubes, a la Atherton Bikes), and that layup patterns don't vary much or at all between sizes ( with a few notable exceptions). But that might be old wisdom on my part, and perhaps the industry is more sophisticated in the way it designs layup patternds now. Maybe everyone is tuning thickness and layup pattern between sizes, but only a few brands are explicitly advertising it. Here's an example of Unno's layup for the Dash 130:

3/23/2026 9:44am You can - depends on your desire to order small parts and do disassembly and reassembly. The kits will become available and the tech can be applied. You can look up parts kits on the tech page, though MY27 won't appear for another few weeks: tech.ridefox.com

3/23/2026 9:40am It's awesome Vital is getting enough recognition that Fox decided to chime in. So far they haven't done anything but clarify a few things and answer a couple questions. @FoxFactory can you upgrade an existing gripX2 with the new mid-valve or does it require a whole new damper?

3/23/2026 9:40am Correct, though as of last year Float X2 is no longer twin tube and has moved to a mono-tube design. We kept the X2 designations to help the majority of riders understand what product relates to what category and what adjustments they can expect on the product.

3/20/2026 1:45am I honestly appreciate the fact that we are working our way away from model year names, or re-branding of products for slight updates and tweaks. Those that want to latest and greatest or want to validate what off the shelf product they are buying can work with their IBD to validate the serial numbers or they can do that themselves. Disclaimer, I know just enough about suspension design to be dangerous... While we're on the subject, The updates to the grip x2 damper are interesting. From looking at the cut away's and press release info, it seems mostly focused on...

3/19/2026 11:49pm X2 is a naming convention that related to 2x the adjustability which applies to Grip X2 as well as our Float X2/DHX2 shocks - two compression adjustments (HSC/LSC) and two rebound adjustments (HSR/LSR)!

3/19/2026 9:36am New Fox 38 release date is March 26th 4pm UTC Nothing crazy - Glidecore air spring, X2 damper, speed hole arch. Weight starts at 2200g for 29" New 40 release date is March 19th 4pm UTC Similar treatment as the 38, but looks like a new mud guard and cassette tooling for the air top-cap

3/19/2026 9:31am Bosch fast charger coming later this year - 12amps. CX and CXR firmware update in May bumping torque and power to compete with Avinox and Specialized. Also TQ full power motor later this year. Fairly reliable source told me the new Santa Cruz Nomad will look like the new Bronson and Hightower. The Megatower is dead. Wasn’t able to confirm if the Nomad will be officially dual crown compatible. Anyone got anything since those alu mule dual crown photos?

3/19/2026 9:31am You're an amateur. I carry a ton of tools, but every other year or so something goes so horribly wrong I STILL have to walk back to the car. Bikes are pretty good though. My proudest trailside repair was actually roadside...blew a shifter cable 40 miles from home on a cold February day on my gravel bike. I had an extra cable in my little revelate gas tank bag. Fixed it, rode home.
