Kirk Mcdowall is riding what looks like an Aluminum Range in this video, with a tantalizing black bag over the shock area.

Bart Brentjens in the women's XCO said that SRAM will stop producing 50t cassettes when they release the new drivetrain; 52t only going forward.

I'm not a SRAM user, but If I remember correct, OG Eagle can only go to 50T and only the new gen can go 52T.

So there is going to me a metric shitload of people who can't buy a new cassette?

Don't worry OG derailleurs won't last that long without dismantling, especially lower stuff.

They will get the new ones with time eventually

I gotta think 1. he misspoke or 2. I misheard. Maybe the new cassettes (that take the flat-top chain) will be 52t only? They'd be silly to give up on 50t entirely given how much they charge for them...

highest end fluid with FOX factory squish and full XT drivetrain (not just a rear derailleur) just dropped to $3,999 too. we'll have a long-term test posted soon. it's held up well under our rider who's had over 250 miles on it in the last couple months.

we actually filmed it today

Rad, I'm definitely looking forward to that review!

They may have went with a full XT drivetrain but no XT brakes... smart move from Norco to go with TRP brakes IMO.

I'm a bit late on this discussion but... nobody's brought up the Evil Offering? If you're looking for mid travel, playful, and 66ish HTA that's the bike

And it hardly costs anything to make as only the 50T and the 52T are different.

I kinda wanna think the current-gen 52T will be going away to push people on the wholly new stuff? But who knows.

The main issue I have with the upcoming stuff is that it's hardly possible we'll get an X01 level group that is cable actuated. Might have to jump ship to Shimano after 15 years...

I think Primoz meant cassette. Those are "indestructable". Good cassettes are an investment.

Yes and no. I'm on the original 2019 X01 derailleur (have spare jockeys in stock, but I managed to derustify them and cleaned them out and repacked them with grease multiple times) and original 2019 cassette X01 cassette that came with the bike (it has become a 48t cassette though). I'm also running the original front chainring (aluminium, GX level cold forged) and I'm currently on the third X01/XX1 chain. It's also the last chain as the cassette and chainring are tired with over 300k vertical meters on it.

New YT e-bike coming?

Screenshot from Markus Insta story.

Rumors that two new e-bikes will be released next week. One could be from Specialized and the other one from YT…

Any thoughts on this?

New Levo SL confirmed. approx 55Nm. Dunno about battery size. 1 source said mullet, the other both mullet and 29. Not even Specialized employees know for sure or they just have no clue. IDK

I am in the market for a new Bronson. I am having a very hard time finding a C S build in XL. After making several calls I was told the mew Bronson will be shipping mid-November and will likely have gloss black and salmon (pink?) colors. Have you heard the same? I’d love to see the pictures that you reference (I searched with no luck).

If I can’t find one then I guess I’ll be ordering the newest version. I’m not wild about either colors though.

He did semi specify lower end ones. xx2 and Xo1 were pretty Solid other than the regular amount of failures for any group in my shop level experience, but gx, nx and especially the clearly made from recycled plastic bottles SX go, it's pretty bad, getting worse at NX and SX to the point where new bikes wouldn't shift down from the 50t out of the box from either weak springs or too much flex/poor movement in the parallelogram which you could not tune out of the affected derailleurs. Total trash. Gx was pretty good but would randomly seize or fail in the clutch or pulley wheels and sideline you until you could get a new one.

This is when I found out 11spd Shimano works very well with Eagle 12 during the pandemic shortages because we couldn't get replacement derailleurs from sram. Legit, an 11spd XT SGS is the best upgrade you can buy for SX/NX. A friend's been running a set up I did on his yeti last year for 11 months and it's been fine.

I got my hands on a less than a year old NX mech the other day and I was sure it was completely unscrewed. Turned out it was just completely worn out in the B knuckle around the main bolt.

The 11spd shimano, paired with a Sram lever?

I did an experiment some years ago, replacing my 11-speed RD with NX, as I had very good experience with GX. NX was toast after 4 rides or something. play in the parallelogram and just. Now I am at an at least GX level on everything.

Having used, and enjoyed, the mid cage GS derailleur and the the 10-45 Shimano cassette its paired with, I wonder why SRAM hasn't thought about doing the same thing. Decreasing a chainring size is beneficial while the added clearance to the derailleur is definitely most welcome.

I hope they finally release an AXS dropper that is 200mm or more. Only thing stopping me and many others I know from buying one...

I do love this, but how much is it going to weigh? Will it be competitive against ultralight carbon bikes?

Speaking of Commencal's anyone seen the new 2023 colours? The new Lilac Meta TR is amazing :D

Light alu is possible, it just won't be reliable. What is a few more cracked frames for Commencal anyway Whistling

I'm going to go out on a limb and wildly speculate that Pauline Ferrand Prevot will be riding for them next year and this bike is being developed for her and the team.
