Here’s a thought - didn’t Warner present on gmbn dirt shed show aka discovery when he was already under contract with red bull? Was gmbn owned by discovery from the beginning or were they acquired more recently?

discovery acquired the Play Sports Group (which owns GMBN and GCN) in 2019. a quick google only gives results of warner appearing on there prior to the discovery acquisition (i didn't do a deep dive) but that seems to jive. also i'm not sure if a youtube based series would run afoul of any non-compete clause he would have with red bull media. although his RB series "rob warners wild rides" launched in late 2019 so maybe after the discovery acquisition of GMBN he started doing his own content on RBtv in addition to commentating.

If you scroll to the bottom, there is a user generated comment. In there, it is implying that HBO Max will be rolled into Discovery+. Basically the new CEO is putting a lot of things on the chopping block for financial reasons.

In my mind, this does not bode well for DH next season.

Not to repeat my previous claims, but do we think they would roll DH into Discovery+/HBO Max when they already have a separate 'cycling' channel in GCN+? I still assume (maybe wrongly) that we will see World Cup DH move to GMBN/GCN, and that will remain a separate subscription or 'channel', at least for now.

I read what you're writing, it's just the current ceo is merging platforms and shutting down a lot of projects... And we still have not heard anything concrete just leaves me as a spectator, nervous as hell.

Discovery Inc (WBD.O) said on Thursday it would merge the HBO Max streaming service with Discovery+ as a single offering, combining WarnerMedia's dramas, comedies and movies with Discovery's reality shows. "With respect to streaming, our main priority right now is launching an integrated SVOD service," said Chief Executive Officer David Zaslav.

To be fair, if I'm able to get HBO max, full WB back catalog and World cup racing next year for one deal, I'm slightly more enticed to pay for it.

I think what Warner Disney are cooking up for DH is going to have a massive effect on how teams look next year, so I would say it is just as important to the 2023 season.

I'm joining dots that probably don't exist but what's an internet forum for if not wild speculation....

But on the recent 20 years of IXS cup video ,Warner is doing the voice over, which is obviously not a Redbull job. So I'm speculating we see a breakaway IXS/Redbull cup next year which drags some top riders/teams over, or at least the 30-60 qualifiers who suddenly aren't getting the exposure they once were.

Exactly, how are teams and privateers meant to plan and budget for 2023 when there are no details.

No idea of entry costs, round locations, riders to have on the team.

At some point this might start having a knock-on effect how the teams view the next season.

as an aside, I'm not sure we can even watch HBO/Discovery whatever here. I'm not sure we in the southern hemisphere will even be able to watch races next year, regardless of how much the coverage may suck. Sad face emoji.

Redbull typically does not have non compete clauses in their contracts for presenters preventing them from doing work at non redbull events. Even if rob worked for redbull next year he could still do world cups if eso was going to make it work.

Rob is likely just doing the ixs stuff as a side gig but it would be awesome and somewhat plausible for redbull to take on ixs. They cover the feeder series for multiple sports and it’s euro based.

Just noticed in the MSA Raw video that Connor Fearon has a Manitou Dorado on the front of his Forbidden. It also looks like he is back on a Dreadnought (judging by the stock paint job). An Airline lost the prototype DH Bike? Is he on a loaner bike?
