Perhaps specialized. They can afford two number ones. Loic and vali also don’t need to compete with one another. So it could be a pretty ideal way for specialized to make a splash as they often like to make.

I am guessing that Tahnee got a fair chuck of chunk of change to move to canyon. I don’t get why Vali who has yet to win a elite WC or get a Elite WC podium gets all this shine. Is she the future probably. Is she the present, not so sure a about that. I though maybe he had s huge following in SM and that was why she would be worth so much but nope. So just trying to understand why is it’s she is hottest commodity?
She was favored to win leogang before crashing on the huge gap jump in practice. She’s on pace. Wouldn’t be surprised if she was in title hunt next year. She’s got a big following and is significantly younger than her competitors. She will do what Emil has done in slopestyle in women’s dh. Any brand would be dumb to not try to lock a talent like hers down for a long time

You know how dh racing works right? Juniors may be starting early in the day but you can still compare run times to elite perfectly fine.
I get the idea of potential. I remember when Finn was going to set the world of fire but that never happened. JRs are still that JRs. Until you can do it on the big stage you are only potential. Potential only pays so many bills. Sure whe will do well in elite mostly because there are only so many top level riders.
So their early times are under the same level pressure and in the same conditions right? Not saying she won’t do well but right now she is far from the greatest rider alive.

I don’t remember remotely that type of fanfare behind Finn. Finn didn’t go fastest seeding at his first elite race. She was the favorite to win in leogang.
Value =/= greatness. Vali got a long way before any type of goat title, but she is Miles ahead of tahnee or finn at her age.

Florian Vogel (already doing mtb fondos with Specy) will ride wof Specialzied Factory CX 2021
Jordan Sarrou, current XC world champ, moves to Specialized and Kerschbaumer is rumored there too
Back on page 13 I have already shown these rumors, source is somebody with close ties to high profile italian xco racers... Kerschbaumer and Sarou to Specialized
Luca Braidot and Marotte to Santa Cruz, apparently new XC bike is also in the works
Ferand-Prevot to Absalon
Vali will probably be on par or even more dominant than Rachel Atherton has been. Of course she still has to deliver against strong competitors, but unless major stepbacks she will. She could very well be as fast as many dudes in the future. Also, signing her would mean getting a lot of exposure, given she is rightfully quite often in the spotlight. She has a strong relationship with Sram, I don't see her leaving them.
Ps. Great fan here obviously.
Vali has shown more potential than any junior woman (and possibly man) before her. Going into the season she qualified 1st at worlds by a significant margin then had a really stupid crash taking her out for the season. She was the youngest rider in the field and immediately established herself as the one to beat. There is a lot of value in that. Plus I believe she will be going into this season ready to compete for the overall. Something that she was not intending to do last year given her school schedule.

It is not just potential. She has been consistently posting top Elite times as a Junior, and had all the elite women puzzling in Leogang until she shattered her foot. You cannot win an Elite race before you enter it, but otherwise, unlike Fin, Vali has made all she can to put herself squarely into contender status.
Finn is actually not her closest comparable, that would be Thibault Daprela, who has had top 10 Elite times as a Junior and has slid into a top 5 in his first season as Elite.
Don't know about you, but if her own competitors are scared of her, I would not think twice about putting Vali square in the contenders category.

Probably not since Sam Hill have the elites been looking at a kid and saying oh shit I’m about to be out of business if I don’t pick it up.
I remember Tahnee got a fair amount of press out of the whole "follow my dream" marketing, and hitting/crashing the biggest gaps in Champery as a pre-teen. I think it is a similar combo of potential and good marketing skills on her behalf that is pushing Vali way up in value.
As a reminder for Daprela: not only did he finish 5th in his first year elite season with some very good results (1 Podium and a top 10 each round). The kid was injured in March and expected his season to be over! You can tell on the live feed he is probably pushing too hard, but a few seasons from now he will be unstoppable.
Greg Williamson insta story with Jamie Edmondson suggests that Jamie has signed for someone?
Could be just a troll.
In the Ben Cathro / Pinkbike video, Jamie was using the past tense when talking about looking for a team. He's been snapped up, just no word yet on who by
Trek or Canyon. Both are ticking a lot of the boxes.
I live close to Trek headquarters and have a fair amount of friends that work for Trek first off. Secondly the Trek DH team will be stacked next season on the men’s & women’s side. They are not messing around.

Stacked meaning they're signing Loris, signing a lady, AND keeping all their current DH?
If that happens I suppose they'll just be similar in size to the Commencal team.
Who would they pick up from the womens field. Cabirou? Farina? Siegenthaller?

(with some cofactory riders from the same geographical area, freeriders too... Don't know what they try to do...)

Can either afford more riders without seeding new independent teams that they toss frames to and are mainly supported by other sponsors?
Things that make you go hmmm....
