Running a Aquila myself this i pretty much it, seems like Gwin is missing his Onza tires already lol.

If you ignore the differences in side knobs and main repeating center tread pattern, then yeah it looks like an Aquila Wink This new Kenda tire has more or less the same repeating side knobs, whereas the side knobs of the Aquila had alternating shapes. The center knobs here are more or less "vertical" rectangles (unsiped followed by siped), whereas the center knobs of the Aquila are siped vertical followed by siped horizontal. In short this new Kenda tire is more similarish to a DHF and the Aquila is more similarish to a DHR II.

Nope, That is his brother Walker's bike. He works, or has worked for Öhlins and was spotted testing the soon to be released Specialized Demo last summer at Snowshoe with Öhlins components.

Here you can see better the air cap on Minnaar's fork. It could just be an easier way of mounting the data acquisition rod. Or a big nut to undo the top cap easily, given they maybe changing volume spacers quite often.

This is something that DH racers have been doing for a while. If you look back to Peaty's cow themed V10, he used a full-XTR front brake paired with a full-Saint rear brake.

Last year when he won Andorra, Loris used XTR carbon levers paired with Saint calipers. I'm running an XO carbon lever paired with a Code caliper and I do like the feel that the lighter lever set up generates (it's still far more powerful than my set of Hope Tech 3 V4 brakes that I could never get to feel right).

Recently, Loris has been running the full set of new 4-piston XTR brakes, but since he's a mega puzzler, I am sure he will change it up depending on his anxiety level.

As most of these racers don't need full stopping power but slowing power, I can see why they might opt for the full XTR set up. I have yet to try the new 4-piston XTR set up though, it's supposedly just shy of Saint in the power department.

I'm on the new XTR 4-pots. Still fairly new, about 10 DH runs (totaling approximately 20km) done in both rain and dust, along with 15kms worth of trail riding.

These are probably the best brakes I've ever tried.

I used to be on Zees (which were essentially Saint calipers with SLX levers) and I can tell you these XTR's have much much better modulation without any loss of power at all. Truth be told, these actually feel like they have even more power, which I think is probably due to the new lever design.

Bolted on independent brake arm, extra bolted on bits for a longer wheelbase and crazy flame paint jobs are making me feel 16 again and I love it! Long live the late 90's DH Scene

I thought these tires looked familiar but couldn't remember from where. The 3-2-3-2 middle pattern looks pretty similar to a Bontrager XR4:

Cannondale should throw back to their heyday with the new DH and Ratboys team by giving the team riders the retro colour ways as a throwback to when they were the greatest team on the planet!

Was watching Amaury Pierron's race run from Andorra, which is absolutely insane to watch... like wtf. But I actually noticed that he was running the old Code levers on his bike, kinda curious as to why he'd run these instead of the new Code's. Any ideas? But seriously, watch that race run, it's mind melting.

Probably he just likes the feel better. Given Codes where the only avid brakes to ever work it doesn't surprise me. Does anyone know if the old lever store more oil? That could be a factor in Andorra.

this is a combo of race talk and race tech i guess. val di sole timed training results are in and Sven reported that a lot of top riders were actually walking the track instead of doing timed runs. he cites that the course is so brutal, many are feeling the limits of the bikes are being pushed to their edge. how freaking scary!
