Good chance Trek is sponsoring this new film as many of the trek riders have posted about their segments in the upcoming film. If Shandro is a part of the actual trek team this year then he would for sure get a spot in the film, I wouldnt be suprised if they tie his dad into the segment in some way.
TL;DR its my best guess that the junior on Trek will be Ethan Shandro
Try to think about how many bikes Specialized or Trek are making yearly, because they're the biggest customers of the two above, then add those volumes to the bikes produced under those guys' own label and you're getting somewhere.
There are enough smaller factories in Asia who could make the stuff. For instance, try to find out where Saracen bikes are made,that could be a starting point. But I am doubting we are going that route...
That would make it more of a "let's sneak a Merida DH bike into the market labelled Atherton", so Merida wouldnt care that much about the numbers imo
