World Champs not after the final world cup?
without riders going 110% (less injury concerns), might as well not bother with the race.

Its a silly title vs world cup overall, but at least riders going all out makes it a bit special.

I asked him on one of his IG posts the other day about when he was getting a redbull helmet with all the plugging he’s done for them. No answer, nor ally get something back!

UCI MTB World Cup Kalender 2019

Der World Cup Kalender 2019 enthält einige Neuerungen, so dürfen sich die Fahrer mit Maribor (Slowenien), Les Gets (Frankreich) und Snowshoe (USA) auf drei neue Strecken freuen. Jedoch finden sich unter den World Cup Stopps auch Klassiker wie Val di Sole (Italien), Leogang (Österreich), Lenzerheide (Schweiz) und Fort William (Großbritannien) wieder. Die Weltmeisterschaft findet dieses Jahr in Mont Sainte Anne, Kanada statt.

The press release on PB says Rat will stay with SC Reserve wheels. Interesting that switching frames made sense but keeping the wheels is cool. If I were a frame sponsor I wouldn't want wheels with a Santa Cruz logo on my team riders' bikes. Whoever signed him must have been seriously motivated.

On 27 September 2018 in Innsbruck (Austria), the International Cyclist Union announced the calendar for the upcoming important international mountain bike events. Les Gets resort has been chosen to organize the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships presented by Mercedes-Benz for Downhill (DHI) and Cross-Country (XCO) from 24 to 28 August 2022, and four rounds of the Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup for the same disciplines in 2019 and 2020.

FOUR MOUNTAIN BIKE WORLD CUPS
a preamble to the 2022 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships presented by Mercedes-Benz
For four years, Les Gets will be THE place to be for athletes participating in each season of the Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup.
A ramp-up which includes the organization of the DHI and XCO finals, two and three years before the UCI Mountain Bike World Championship presented by Mercedes-Benz.

Programme (to be confirmed):
• 13-14 July 2019: Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup - DHI and XCO.
• 19-20 September 2020: Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup finals - DHI and XCO.
• Candidate for the organization of the 2021 Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup finals - DHI and XCO.
• 24-28 August 2022: UCI Mountain Bike World Championships presented by Mercedes-Benz - DHI and XCO.

The French Cyclism Federation (FFC) will co-organize the world competitions which will take place from 24 to 28 August 2022, two years before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The World Championships return to France after an absence of 18 years…a consecration for Les Gets resort which hosted the championships in 2004.

After the success of that event, and 25 years of international competition organization, the resort will revel in the action required to receive the elite of international mountain biking again

So, the official calendars are out. All i can say is that Slovenians and neighbouring DH fans are royally fucked in 2020. First Maribor on 2. and 3. of May and then a week later Lošinj... How the hell will our livers take it?! :D

Possibly because they are primarily Downhill riders on a Downhill team?? Seems unlikely that Pivot and Norco would commit to a team entry (I imagine it comes at a sum of money) when not every rider (or any at all) is competing in every round. With relation to Rat, it should be noted that Sam Dale isn't listed within a team either, since neither or on the actual Santa Cruz enduro team, a la Josh Lewis, Mark Scott and Iago Garay.

Overheard: an unnamed EWS rider staying put on his current team in 2019 was supposedly contingent on the manufacturer delivering a long travel 29r for him to use next year. Said rider was sighted at Whistler testing what looked like a long travel 29" Enduro bike prior to flying out to Ainsa. Can anyone confirm which rider (or manufacturer) this is?

Good point. And the strive is very long in the tooth. The torque is a park or freeride machine, the Spectral is a trail bike with the strive being a clear enduro machine. I am fully expecting a new one for next year given last years refreshes of the other two, going 29 would make sense as well.
