But wait. As a kid on a Sting Ray BMX conversion circa '76, the neighborhood bully brothers, those damn Fosselman brothers, set up a pickup truck with a long ladder with strips of ply wood over the rungs and sprinted faster than I could off the sidewalk and jumped it to flat on the grass. Perhaps such a set up could work.

Depends which Shimano hub you have. The older Spank hubs are 12° which is 30 points. I think Shimano maxes out at 36 but goes down to 16. So it could be either an up or down grade for you.

Hate to say it, but the dmr vault reliability is very poor. The inboard seal isn’t effective leading to constant contamination issues. If you don’t stay on top of it the bushing that’s right next to that seal gets dirty and dry in pretty short order. You’ll end up with either with that horrid dry squeak or the bushing working its way out of the pedal body towards the crank arm. If you ride in the wet or in the dust I wouldn’t recommend these pedals. Not to mention you need a special tool to do the rebuild...

"The smoothest, stiffest, most tunable forks we've ever made." - FOX So they're claiming these are better than their past products? That's surprising.

Touch points. For me it’s grips. Lock on with only inner ring, thicker for more feel in cold weather and with enough channeling I can go without gloves for weather over 45F even on those muggy summer mid day rides. Saddle, as long as it’s not too wide it doesn’t really matter. Pedals, spd if clipless, otherwise flats that I...

Butcher GRID 2.3 front and rear on the trail bike. Decent tire that doesn’t have the outright grip of a dhr2, but they are usually able to be found pretty cheap. Next set in the basement waiting is Onza Aquila whatever the enduro casing is called... $16 each on closeout last year at crc. The other bike that doesn’t get...
