Malky79 Liked a reply to forum topic SRAM Brakes
9/25/2023 11:22pm I've not ridden any of the new Sram brakes, but there doesn't appear to be any major change from the old designs other than an aesthetic one. If you are buying the brakes (as opposed to them coming OEM), I'd probably look for a good deal on the old model Code RSC. I would also invest in a pro quality bleed kit - you can't burp them like you can with the Shimano cup tool, and a pro kit will make the job a lot easier. I don't understand the fuss people make about DOT fluid - wear gloves and...

WynMasters Liked a reply to forum topic UCI DH Rule Unclear - DSQ for Riding Over a Course-Marking Pole?
10/17/2020 12:53am Definitely a DQ if the UCI want to be consistent with their rulings, Bernard tried to argue this as he was DQ'd years ago for something similar, but the UCI Comm argues it wasn't intentional. Bernard gives his thoughts in my WynTV up later tonight.

Good video. I think having dialed suspension and a bike that fits properly are the 2 biggest things in a bike riding well. For some reason a lot of people aren’t into the custom tuned suspension thing, never really understood that when people drop 4-10k on a bike but then won’t spend an extra $300-400 to get the suspension perfect. They will buy a product that they can put into their fork or shock, like the Runt, but won’t go for a full tune. The fit thing is a different conversation, drives me nuts when I see people running super...

warthog Added a comment about press release Steve Peat Launches Peaty’s USA at Sea Otter Classic 2019
4/5/2019 1:39pm USA isn't in the brand name. Peaty's USA is the name of the subsidiary that's based in the U.S. to handle the sales, marketing, and distribution of Peaty's products in the U.S. The brand name is still Peaty's.

Sacki Liked a comment about Press Release Introducing the World's Lightest 80mm Dropper - BikeYoke Divine SL
10/17/2018 3:46pm TRM Obi1 has not been shown on their website for quite some time. We´re checking our competitors regularly. Why the post is not on their website anymore, I don´t know, and I do not want to speculate. As mentioned before, the FRM´s weight is based on 27.2 diameter. Of course it is lighter. It has only 60mm of travel. If you want to use it in a 30.9 or 31.6 seatttube, you´d have to use shims, which weighs, as wel. We´ve designed the DIVINE SL with 80mm, because that is the result of many discussuions with teams, riders, manufacturers and...

7/16/2018 3:33pm Definitely a bucket list area. So much good stuff around there, but you can ride the standard race course descent for days and not get bored. The full XC course is a soul crusher if you decide to do the climb as well. If you haven't been, go!

mtothef Liked a comment about Feature The Inside Line Podcast - Mike Ferrentino
3/7/2018 12:59am There are a couple references in that podcast that I probably should've thought out more thoroughly before opening my mouth. I called the town of Portola a shithole, which is not a fair assessment at all, and in light of a certain president and his recent use of that same word to define certain countries, I wish I could take that one back. And the dentures comment, I probably should have explained that. When I was going to Waihi South School at the ripe old age of 8, there was a dental "care" facility AT the school, and we kids...

Krafkloot Liked a product review A shop rats bike? Don´t think so..
5/29/2017 3:45pm
As much as i hate to deliver this review i feel its only right to do so, would have loved to find any information of this kind before burning the amount of money on a bike as i did. I am one of the much cited shop rats who rather ride a reliable, heavy aluminum bike over any weight concious flimsy alternative on the market. Working on bikes for a living the last 6 years, this was my mindset when i dumped an enormous amount of money (for a bike mechanics salary anyway) on a frame. I was happy to...

4/12/2017 3:14pm I saw this bike at the Mountain States Cup race at Angel Fire in 2007. I don't know the guy, but we were parked next to each other and he asked to borrow a tool and we got to talking. Naturally I had some questions about the bike, how it rode and so forth. He said it was working great...
