Please don't take what I said the wrong way. I meant no disrespect and I'm not suggesting you copied anyone elses idea. People often have very similar ideas that they come about independently, and it is a great idea. To be clear, it was not a Suntour product that I am talking about, it was a product of Browning Arms the gun manufacturer. Browning did later (1990) license a 3 speed system to Suntour, but that's not the one I meant to refer to, I just mixed up which was which. How you describe your system working is pretty much...

In the mid 1980's, there was a 2 speed BMX system made by Browning Arms (the firearms company) that used the same principal. I seem to recall that Suntour manufactured it for them, pretty sure anyway. The concepts been around since at least the mid-70's.

Oh yeah, certainly not expecting anything in detail, more of a general idea, curious as to what other readers thoughts were. For instance, seeing his bike in person it should be possible to get a peak at the spring on his shock. Even if the specs were erased you could kind of estimate based on the number of coils i'd imagine. My guess is it's setup with alot of damping and maybe a little higher than normal spring rate.

It's well known that Gwin likes his supension setup "stiffer" than most other racers but, "stiffer" in what way? Higher spring rates? More compression damping? If so, high speed, low speed or both? All of the above? Just curious.

Gee had many OTB type crashes over the years on every bike he has ridden. He rode most of last year with concussion from multiple crashed on commencal. He is faster on the GT his splits have proved it, just had a bit of bad luck in Ft Bill and RSA otherwise those podiums could have just as easy been wins.
