Drop the Zeb R? Also, it still has the Charger damper, while the Yari is on the Motion Control damper. Plus the 7000 series aluminium stanchions of the Lyrik vs. 6000 series stanchions of the Yari. Also, the Domain had steel stanchions back in the day, at least I'm guessing so as they were chrome plated. Plus the Yari RC MSRP is ~300 € lower than the Zeb R. I'm thinking there is a place for a Zeb-like-Domain in the lineup lower down, to cover entry level e-bikes.

But she does, sadly, have performance issue because of the consequences of a concussion if I'm not mistaken. :/ I hope she takes care of herself and maybe even takes it a bit easier, I wouldn't wish for her to go through the same thing Lorraine Truong went, who sadly, in her mid 20s, through traumatic brain injury, lost her racing career and an engineering job with BMC. Sad TBIs are nasty.

I'd imagine there will be a new DC fork from them build on the 38mm stanchions too.

New Domain on the way from Rockshox? If there is, it looks like the Zeb fender will fit it.

My previous gen Hightower has a 65 mm stem and is up forked. It feels extremely similar to the current gen Hightower when riding straight lines. I prefer how my bike corners in flat corners. I prefer how my bike climbs. But once you get descending on a actual bike trail the new one feels better. Especially if it’s steep or rough or riding platform pedals. The recent sb115 vs spur does a pretty good job of Highlighting the pros and cons of modern geo. I think more conservative numbers are really great if you don’t have a lot of...

I’m sure I’ll get some hate for this but besides seat tube angle, I think most people are running/wanting too slack and long of a bike. Enduro magazine (a solid European mtb publication) did a test of what most ews riders are on and found many of the riders ranging from 5’10” to 6’2” were all on bikes with ~65° head angles and <465mm reach numbers. Granted these guys aren’t the normal rider but the magazine reviewers (much closer to a “normal” rider) tested each bike and despite all of them 6’-6’4” in height they all had their fastest time...

Always think it's so cool they don't have a tyre sponsor. Gives them so much more freedom, for arguably the part of the bike which can have an enormous impact on performance depending on the different conditions. Remember he ran Michelin's blacked out at some point too. A race team that's single-mindedly focussed on winning. And yes, I did buy a Demo to be like Loic. Such a sucker for marketing.

Technically fluid (oil) damping is a form of friction too. Viscosity os the 'friction' in the fluid itself and viscosity is what gives us the damping (the resistance of a fluid to flow through different orifices). Granted, it's very different and more constant compared to friction between solid surfaces. But the early automotive dampers did use preloaded plates to provide some damping in the suspension. One thing to always note about patents too. Big companies like Fox, Sram and Shimano can easily patent even the most stupid ideas just to have a patent covering it, preventing the competition and the...

Got a new one for you folks, I really love this one. Fox have developed a variable friction shock, where the sidewalls OR the piston shaft have various levels of friction coefficients, based on where the piston is in the travel. So the shock has different features at different locations in the travel. More importantly, there is a Live Valve variant where the piston seal has a polyelectrolyte coating and when a voltage is applied (from a controller and sensors) the friction can be changed inside the shock. Fuckin sick. https://wheelbased.com/2021/01/11/variable-friction-tuning-for-shock-absorption-by-fox-racing/ Oh and here's Shimano's answer to SRAM's AXS system...

Nope. There are still batteries. I have a Shockwiz, bought it, put it on the bike, set the clickers (I have an RC2 Lyrik and a Super Deluxe Ultimate) and that was it. I do not change anything. I do not lock my rear shock. I just ride. For someone knowing exactly what and how all the clickers do, for someone so vocal about tech stuff on the forum, for someone thinking it would be cool to have a power meter, to have more advanced suspension analysis gear and someone thinking how to put strain gauges onto the frame to...
