I do like the idea of having the option to mix "enduro" front and "DH" rear. For example a single crown DH Build or a dual crown enduro build. Nothing revolutionary but people love to tinker around with their bikes, myself included.

This is a non-issue. You simply buy a race for your dual crown (its different) and you leave the race on your single crown. When you switch, these should stay put. I see no reason you should be swapping entire headsets. Maybe I'm misreading?

I pushed the rock shox product manager to keep the 35mm Boxxer and update with a tapered steerer and 15mm axle for these bikes. Shot down.

I was thinking the other day that it would be cool if someone offered up "analog" conversions for ebikes where the motor company goes out of business, stops supporting a motor, or charges too much for a replacement unit after it fails. Case in point: all the EP8s out there that will eventually die, and Shimano will demand $1,200 for a new motor. What if someone made a machined aluminum "box" that matched certain motor bolt patterns, with a tube for a crank axle and tapped for BSA 73 bottom brackets? No one needs any of these bikes, but if they make riding more interesting or fun I'm all for it. The Checkout isn't for me (at least right now) but for folks who are doing really long bikepacking trips/races it's probably awesome. Technology is not a replacement for bike maintenance. You simply have to tear your bike down once a year if you're riding a good amount and make sure you touch everything. Too many mountain bikers are in the ride it until it breaks or there is a problem mindset.
