anyone who pays attention beyond one liners taken out of context as some kind of 'proof' of being unsportsmanlike hasn't noticed how different DH is from other sports in how much the racers support one another. While sometimes frustrated with their own performance, they all seem genuinely stoked for one another and as a whole generally show great support and sportsmanship across the categories. It's pretty heartening to see in a world where everyone wants to be offended and see grievance or hold misplaced grudges.

Everyone will have individual preferences for the athletes they are drawn to as fans. But I also think it’s comical that there is so much discussion about who to root for/against. How lucky are we as a sport that our two titans at the moment are Bruni and Jackson. Both seem like incredibly rad humans who are humble and genuine. Hell, nearly everyone in our sport seems awesome (I can only think of one egregious potential bad apple and a second sour one). Have a personal favorite, but acknowledge they are all pretty damn awesome.

Frankly no I don’t think even Bruni was groomed to the same level as Jackson. Jackson was putting out edits with the likes of Stevie Smith since he was 10 years old. He probably doesn’t even remember a time in his life when he wasn’t a sponsored athlete. If you go back and watch any of the early Lapierre team videos you can see young Bruni was completely star struck as a junior. He couldn’t believe he was on a team with his idol Blenkinsopp. Very different vibe to Jackson. As for finish line celebrations, nobody wants to see bitter...

Agreed with Ebruner. I think that rider weight matters even more when you are talking about ebikes especially for females. When you are 130lbs anything the high side of 45 "rides wrong..." or so I'm told. As a percentage change relative to body mass it all matters much more.

No doubt Goldstone is a nice kid but he’s far from the average mtb bro. He’s basically a factory product, groomed to a level beyond what we’ve seen in the past (no BK jokes please 😂). I think our expectations as fans and his own expectations are just so high that his first rainbow jersey and WC overall feel like a bit of a formality. What’s more exciting is the fact that he’s got the potential to be an all time record breaker. I’ll be rooting for him in 2040.

Maples on Frameworks is a fairly good guess I would think but I wonder how much Neko had spend to get Asa signed up for a another 3 years . Might be that he replace Angel suarez with Maples , Angel seems to be one of the unluckiest riders out there with injuries and just not quite getting the results his talent deserves. As for Dak I'm sure if he's off Mondraker he'll have no problem finding a ride but if all the YT riders are after teams as well , there might not be too many fully factory supported...

Not @-ing you specifically but a comment on buying teams. It's not really worth it. Jonathan Vaughters of EF Cycling had an interview when their was speculation of them buying EF Education-Tibco-SVB women's team (I'm trying to find it but it's been a while). Even in road cycling with bigger budgets and larger audiences the valuation of a boils down to basically just it's physical assets. Contracts are only good for a few more years at best and the labilities are huge - you would basically have to step in and suddenly keep juggling all the same balls. Unless it's...
