The UCI takes a lot of shit (sometimes for good reason), but I gotta say the 2019 DH schedule was a fantastic variety of tracks. The new venues combined with the addition of more raw/tech sections at the existing stops made for near superhero/video game level performance. I know a lot of people still call for more races, but the fact that we can watch this degree of talent tackle such challenging courses for free is still amazing to me. Loic at 3:45 was insane. Literally made everyone else look slow. Gotta give respect to Rheeder, super smooth and confident on the DH bike. Doesn't look at all out of place with elite WC racers.

JD and his lil Bro were iconic local kids and there were a lot of them, that many of us tried to nurture and give wings in this savage sport...but this industry can be brutal, miss a beat/result and often you're done. It's a shame we let go of talent before it's prime. Looking forward to this one, a cool so cal bike family (Swanguens) that gave a lot to the scene. There has been a strong downhill race scene in the UK since the early 90's. This is where the likes of Peaty, Warner, and even Minnaar etc all cut their teeth before stepping up world cups. The components on the non-S-Works builds are pretty disappointing and confusing. At the $6500 build, you get the base Fox Performance (not Elite) suspension, but carbon wheels?
