My first day on a dh bike that I owned the rear brake failed on the lift. Fine in the lot, absolutely nothing and immediately to the bar. I honestly didn’t think about riding the lift back down so I ride the first lap like that. And the second. Finished the day like that. Sunday River in Maine so it was all tech, mostly damp and tons of rocks and roots. As a bigger dude, dragging the rear doesn’t really do much so I usually go through 4 sets of front pads per every 3 rears.

I think it would be great there, depending on how your bike is set up you might find that the opening and closing of the valve is a little bit more noticeable in certain scenarios than what I experienced on my 130 bike, but I doubt it would be drastic. I suspect it gets trickier to find a good set-up as you get up towards 160/170 (and coil, certainly). Do report back if you try it!

Hikers/walkers/runners generally don't expect anyone else to be on the trail when they are, regardless of speed. Runners in particular can get incredibly upset if they have to adjust their pace for whatever reason. Whenever I'm on my bike and I meet other users (except bikes 
), I always slow down and try to be courteous. Even then the amount of people on foot that are completely oblivious to their surroundings never ceases to amaze me

Hi there, Cam here from Outlier MTB. First and foremost, thank you all for your positive comments and support during our recent launch! I see that some of you have been discussing the actual pedal drop on this forum. There have been some misunderstandings that we would like to take some time to clear up. Our Pendulum pedal as it was released has 6mm of drop measured from the centre of the axle to the top of the platform. Most flat pedal platforms are somewhere between 5-7mm above the axle so our pedals are essentially ~12mm bellow your average pedal...

Some our local rippers / engineers came up with a very unique "axle-less" pedal. Machined here in Calgary, Alberta and testing in the rocky mountains. They use a big ol 6902 bearing for spinny duties. The pendulum (drop pedal) is super interesting. Void pedals (traditional flat) Pendulum pedals (12mm drop) "Our platform sits 12mm below the center of the axle. Most pedals place the platform 5mm or more above the center of the axle. This effectively lowers the rider's center of mass 17mm or more offering a significant stability, and control. During sudden decelerations, the pedal acts as a pendulum...
