Yup, Marin and Polygon owned by the same parent co (Widjaja family out of Indonesia). I imagine that Minestone was probably just an investment vehicle to assist the purchase of Marin back in 2012: http://www.cyclingplus.my/features/polygon-straight-out-of-surabaya https://www-bikebiz-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.bikebiz.com/.amp/bus… In real terms, there can't be many brands/organisations with the budget to replicate the Atherton deal, so it **could** make sense they go to a new cash backed Marin setup. The only other brand based in Birmingham (seeing Rachel's IG posts) is Wiggle/CRC and we know there's a prototype Nukeproof Pulse out there that Sam won Garbanzo on, but do the numbers stack up...

Minestone Limited, a private European-based investment firm - says the internet for Marin at least.

That's not exactly easy information to track down. I only know because one of my buddies raced for them for a number of years. I can imagine companies don't really want information like parents companies of multiple bike manufacturers getting out.

THIS. A lot of folks seem to be comparing doping for road to doping for EWS races, and that's simply not doable. Yes, while doping for the 'up' could leave you fresher and more attentive for the 'down', it depends on the athlete and their entire supplement regimen, training, etc. AND there is always a tradeoff when you take PED-like substances -- too much caffeine, for example, will leave you shaky and wired with a possible twitch, which can mean disaster in a heavy rock garden or high speeds. These substances are no different. As someone who now has to...

Interesting how some people are acting as though if they are not in dark back alleys with needles, blood bags and a dr w/ an Italian last name ... it must not be doping....or at least it requires a different punishment. Seems to me that the needle and blood bag doping days are over and this is now what doping looks like.

Wow, that's a terrible take. Beyond terrible, actually. This was real testing, by a real governing body. Sanctions will come, and they'll be justified.

awww, bummer to hear it was as simple as pushing the wrong button. no worries either way b/c the original tweet is now gone and reece let us know all he'd heard was rumor and he shouldn't have posted about something he didn't know to be fact...so he deleted his tweet. fair enough. sometimes it's easy to post stuff w/o really thinking about who may see it or in the heat of emotion. and, like Fox said...it's all rumors right now with no facts anywhere that i've seen. i've heard the same things i'm sure a lot of people have...it...

I was the initial user to post the first thread. I was approached earlier today by someone mentioned in the thread who was concerned about their comments surrounding the rumor and the potential negative impacts due to fact that it is just a rumor at this point. While attempting to just delete the comment, I accidentally deleted the entire thread...

No problem with that, that's understandable. My intention was precisely to read this type of answer, that CushCore (and other tire inserts) are not (yet) the Graal.

As somewhat of a representative from Cush Core I can tell you that it will not stop tires from ripping. As much as we would love to stop 100% of flats, it just simply cannot be done in this day and age. This track was full of shape, angular rocks and I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that Pierron's tire failed rather than the Cush Core.

Here are somethings to think about in with all this doping talk going on- PEDs and such aren't the only form of doping in mountain biking. I've heard some pretty dirty details from industry folks about certain athletes getting advantages through the use illegal shuttles and the like. There was another example I heard of where a company sent an...
