thejake Added a comment about feature 10,000 Mountain Bikers Respond - 2020 Vital MTB Survey Results

As someone else that lives out side Seattle I would consider most of Tiger Mountain, Raging River/27, Tokul and other local spots “enduro” style riding. I think when you pedal up then descend down its enduro, I think of trail riding as a little mellower and more rolling terrain. But that could be just me.

Great article Paul! Im totally with you on this one, I think this 'underbiking' crap that has grown so much in popularity is mostly just bravado and general dumb assery. Same goes for gravel biking, 'look how much fun Im having! I have to walk my bike past every technical feature and I crash constantly!'

A Redline BMX and a Giant 24” kids bike are what started the 2 wheel addiction. Here is the mountain bike list. 2001 or 02 Schwinn Mesa 2001 Kona Stinky 6 Demo 9, bought it from a guy that was sponsored by Specialized, had the serial number 002 or something Norco 250 Rotec RL9 2005 Union Street dirt jumper Arrow...

Axle path has nothing to do with wheel size. Pivot placement effects axle path. I had one of those Wilsons, great bike. Before that I had a Rotec RL9 that had a Lawill design. That thing was amazing. Axle path was strait vertical and then went backward for the last few inches of travel. I had a short stroke shock...

I think a lot of people just hate ebikes hence the down votes. I used to be one of those people that hated them but now I just figure if your out riding and having fun it’s all good. As long as the user is respectful, this is a big deal on multi use trails, and not poaching trails that...

I think bike design has kind of hit its limit until we see some break thru in materials or manufacturing process that allows bikes to be built much lighter. Sure geometry will get a little more refined here and there but big changes won’t be happening.

The wannabes or the people like me that don’t have time or money to test all kinds of different set ups to see exactly what performs best but still want the best preforming bike they can have.

Go start your company and make a bunch of money if it’s so easy. Sounds like you will take the market by storm. Overhead will be low since you can work out of your garage and with costs at only $1 and a price of $20-30 and 5 mins to make you should be clearing $2000 a day easy once these start to move.

I’d pay more for the bike if it said “tribe” on it.

I’m pretty sure the previous owner never bled the brakes and just did lever bleeds to top it off. The lever got stuck down and I took it to the local shop and they recommend new brakes. They said fluid was so contaminated that it caused some internal damage. So I’m getting a new set. They told me Shimano has a rebuild kit but that they haven’t had good luck doing that. If anyone has other experience rebuilding Saint brakes I’m all ears.

I have 2 pairs of Saints, one has zero issues and the other, which came on a used and abused DH bike, have the wandering bite point. I’m a little hesitant to try the new XT stuff, I’ve heard XTR doesn’t have that issue. I’m replacing the second pair with new ones. The lever bleed keeps the lever feeling like you have brand new pads as the pads get worn down, highly recommend.

As I heard of the Floyd issue, I did not bother to watch official or independent media and instead just looked up official police and FBI statistics as well as some statements of the founders and leading BLM heads themselves and some of their posts on Twitter. Then some videos of those nice riots and man huntings that are too brutal for many people to watch and the info how many BLACK people and black police men died during those riots that were meant to be FOR Black people. No further questions asked. Full of ideology leading to inciting people...

Case and point. I'm sure you are an intelligent person. Why did you have to ruin it with a post like this? It's usually a sign of someone who can't defend their point

It is NOT a human rights movement and it is totally politically based! I could get behind a BLM movement if that was indeed what it was really about! Instead it's supporters (not all I grant you) often are hurting the communities and people they are claiming to support. They do this by rioting, destroying stores, stealing and hurting people in these African American neighborhoods. Whats funny is when you look at these protests/riots a good portion of the people there are College age Caucasian kids bused in from the suburbs or professional protestors bused in from other communities and...

Dave Weagle famously did this on RideMonkey.com after his IronHorse frames were raced, ridden and owned but for tuning-archives. This thread, most-recently one other across multiple sites now I think more, create an image on forums during a period of no access to a buying public, sustaining spam forum content - the entire site becomes wholesale warehouse space Find it real hard to be optimistic and be supportive of a few unknown breakaways from whatever other internet forums are maybe also being populated. I understand the whole "go get 'em" bump. In respect to current state of global affairs, I...

I don’t currently have Fox suspension but I have in the past and I thought their set up guild for the shock was pretty good. They have the little graph that tells you rider weight and leverage ratio and puts you in a “zone” for the adjustments. How far off those baseline settings did you get?

thejake Added a comment about product review Tires

6/14/2020 9:25pm
With all the bitching about pricing I’d think this was pinkbike. Last time I bought tires I paid about $80 per tire. I got Maxxis DHR and Assegai in double down casing, not much of a deal from my local shop but I know the owner and I’m happy to put an extra few bucks in his pocket when I buy tires. I did how ever look online and I couldn’t find deals on the casing and compound I wanted. So I would say $65 is pretty good if they have what you want, in stock, no hassles, just put...
