It says “heat dissipating paint” so I’m guessing it has some metal in it that helps draw the heat away from the breaking surface

Everyone that is there gets to race. It’s not like a normal World Cup since you have to be invited/with your country’s team. I think you to have to start qualifying to be eligible for finals, hence why Tahnee just just the line and didn’t do a run.

Damn. That crash looked unreal--like a video game where the ragdoll physics are exaggerated. Gee is one tough dude. Respect to him for showing the reality of this project, not just the sanitized highlight reel. More people should understand the kind of risk involved in what he does (and what other elite MTB athletes do).

I would disagree, most bikes are very well built now. They do require semiannual maintenance but as long as your ride isn’t a clapped out POS it should be fine for many seasons if maintained.

Not true. If you increase reach you should increase the chain stays to receive the same ride characteristics. For this bike chainstays increase in about 4-5mm increments with the reach increasing in 25mm increments. On the new Evil the chainstays are the same for every size so a XL will ride differently than a small because of that smaller ratio as sizes increase

2/26/2021 6:18am I have a similar set up for bikes(V10 and Insurgent), if I was going to get another bike it would either be a more XC focused bike or a dirt jump/pump track bike. No point in having bikes that have a major overlap. Seems like you ride one and forget about the other. The Spur would be my choice but...

True. And when people say brake jack they really mean squat. True brake jack, when the suspension decompresses, isn’t on many designs. My guess is Hart ran a floating brake arm to keep the suspension supple on the rough courses and was looking for every fraction of a second that he could.

No race lines vs chicken lines are different. I’ve seen this on a few local trails, sometimes it’s faster but most of the time it’s more of a go around for the hard part.

Seems like it’s always mentioned which is good but I can’t believe how many people won’t even stop and move a small branch/medium size branch off a trail. Pretty embarrassing when you see how many riders use the trails and how few are willing to even give 2-3 mins of time.
