TEAMROBOT Liked a reply to forum topic X0 vs XX Transmission Cassette difference?
5/6/2023 6:45am The amazing part is there are people lining up to buy those $1000 cassettes. Helpful for me to remember that I'm not the target demographic, because if replacing a cassette cost me $1000 I would probably quit mountain biking. Side note about SRAM cassette materials- I'm the third owner of a SRAM 11-speed XX1 cassette with thousands of miles on it, and it still shifts better (and quieter) than a brand new GX 1150 pinned cassette. So whatever steel they used for those old super high-end X-Dome cassettes, it was worth it. Funny part is, those old XX1 cassettes were...

This is such a good segment. Reminds me of Dirt Magazine in a video. I miss Dirt.

1/4/2023 6:55am Now, don't you guys laugh at my pitiful goals, but I hit my 800 mile goal for 2022. The problem is that I spent all my ride days focused on getting a few more miles, and I ended up riding flatter, less-challenging rides to keep the odometer ticking over. So this year, I'm going for an elevation gain instead. Last year I landed just over 30,000 feet, so this year I'm looking to get 50,000'. That's going to be a tough thing for me to do, honestly.

1/2/2023 5:16pm Ride Dirt Digler in Fernie Do some backcountry suffer fest where I feel like a moron the entire time for even picking such a stupid ride but at the end of day go “that was cool”. More commitment and just send it. Take my kids riding more.

12/22/2022 4:22pm No reason you can’t do Issaquah, Bellingham and Whistler/Squamish. I live close to the local I-90 trails near Issaquah and can say if you’re heading to Whistler it’s worth a day or 2, but not a week. Bellingham has lots of goods that would keep you entertained for a couple days. Also Darrington has a great shuttle zone called North...

9/14/2022 7:54am I agree with what everyone here is saying. I feel like analyzing why I crashed is key. Sometimes it is just bad luck. But most of the time I feel like there is bike set up, poor line choice, pushing too hard, etc. Something caused the crash. Figure that out and address it. When you get back on the bike...

9/14/2022 7:49am Similar story for me. I've had a few bad ones in my motocross days when I was younger and a handful of bad ones and close calls on my mountain bike in my adult age. Each time the path back to what I would refer to as, "riding like myself" has been a bit different based on the injury, but the outcome is the same. Generally, I've found it's best to just reset the basics. I re-frame the crash in my head as the symptom of a problem and not the problem itself. That helps me put my head in...

9/11/2022 7:55am I think one of the most dangerous trends we're seeing are these quasi-mullet haircuts so many of these fellas are sporting. Sets a really bad example for the impressionable kids. At least the French brigade and their trash-stache's aren't here and making this really inappropriate for children's eyes.

8/15/2022 5:18pm To each their own. If I rode on tarmac to my local trails and had a XC background I would probably be doing the same as you. I’m fortunate that I live in an area with really good trails that is cool temps most of the year. Most also have climb trails that I don’t wear a helmet on because...

8/14/2022 4:37pm Your story is the exact reason I wear a full face on almost every ride. If your a reasonably fast rider your approaching or at dirt bike speeds, maybe exceeding. No one would ride a dirt bike with shit ass mountain bike gear. They wear proper protection. The “I don’t like it” or “it’s not trendy” argument is stupid. Head...

Good to see more anti "goon bar" content. It's always a cringe when seeing smaller females and little kids on massively wide bars flailing down the trail I have found the WAO bar/stem seem to be pretty good on the hands as well. The back sweep is weird in where it starts, it seems like they have to be rolled forward to get it correct.

A friend of mine has those PNW bars and they are really noodley. Riding his bike in the driveway I could feel them flex, even see it a little. I’m a bigger dude and it seemed scary to me but I could see how they help with arm pump.

6/2/2022 3:21pm Makes sense. It’s a Virtual Pivot, make the links so it’s a mid high to high pivot and it needs an idler. Question is how do you attach the idler so it doesn’t void the warranty.
thejake Added a reply to Why Do e-Bikes Need Derailleurs and Gears?
5/21/2022 9:12pm Don’t most electric vehicles have CVT transmissions? So they have gears it’s just an infinitely adjustable range from x to y. If they had no gears, just direct power, the batteries would be drained super fast. I’m no expert, could be way off.
