Evwan Liked a reply to forum topic 2026 MTB Tech Rumors and Innovation - Longer and Slacker
12/11/2025 11:53am Add Santa Cruz to the west coast mix. Lots of chunky / steep / fast stuff that merits a slacked out 170mm bike. Like yeah, I could ride a 26lb stumpjumper on those trails, but I'm having way more fun on a DH capable enduro rig. I don't think the enduro style of bike is going anywhere. It's more fun than a 150mm trail bike in a lot of scenarios.

12/7/2025 7:25am My name is Luis Arraiz, I am a frame design engineer and specialize in bicycle vehicle dynamics, kinematics and geometry design. I was the founder of K9 Industries Ltd in 2005 in the UK. I worked at CSG (now Pon) from 2015-2023 where I was responsible for the geometry, kinematics and packaging for all the full suspension bikes both analogue and e-bikes for both Cannondale and GT bikes and also several GT hardtails. I introduced the concept of size specific geometry and kinematics for Cannondale dubbed “Proportional Response”. I am now back to the UK, where I am a senior...

12/3/2025 11:19pm Check out the Downamics Patreon. He’s got videos of step by step on there. You will have to watch a few times to get your flow. Also BYB has great videos on YouTube. For me, this is my workflow; Run 1- Warm up / test system and function Run 2 - Dynamic sag Repeat as many runs to get that how you want. Say 25%28% Run 3 - compression/reb speed balence Repeat as many runs to get that how you want. It’s going to take time, don’t get overwhelmed, just learn as you go and it becomes addicting. Try to...

12/3/2025 3:35pm @thegromit I’ve found that the Auto Tune creates a too soft feel for me and my fox factory / performance elite cannot be opened up enough to achieve the rebound and compression settings suggested. Though I do want to get with my suspension servicing friends and try to shim and customize these forks and shocks to the Auto Tune. Part of my self education I would adjust my clickers all the way one way and do a run. Turn the clicker all the way the other way and do a run. Compare the data results and what I felt. And...

12/3/2025 8:15am I ordered my byb kit last week. This is my first data setup but I did use a shockwiz a few times. I am a little intimidated by the scope of this product but I do now have an ebike so I was hoping the learning curve would be sped up by being able to put in more laps easier...
the_pufalot Liked a reply to forum topic EDR - Is the amateur challenge (EWS100 or EWS80) still happening ?
12/3/2025 8:00am The EWS100 and EWS80 were replaced a few years ago (I think when the UCI took over) by the EDR Open, which is basically the same thing. This year, we raced one day out of two when the Pros had a two-day race, or we had one fewer stage than the Pros when it was a single-day event. Unfortunately, we didn’t have Open racing at all the rounds. It was only available in Pietra, Bielsko-Biała, Loudenvielle, Morillon, and Val di Fassa. There was some form of Open racing in Aletsch as well, but I only found out about that after...

11/20/2025 7:17am In honor of the 1000th page, we should vote on the best meme of 2025: 👍🏻 for “Crab” 👎🏻 for “6-7” edit: Carcinization is the antithesis of innovation. Maybe we should keep crab talk on the crab talk forum and keep this thread focused on MTB tech rumors and/or innovation.

HASH TAG BUSINESS BULLS more like business bullshit lol At this point I hope they just buy up more and more and reveal how fragile (and / or spineless) the economy is and how much we are willing to sell our souls for the almighty dollar. Although at this point I don't think you could do anything to get the average citizen to care. (gestures vaguely at the state of things) I see how boycotts don't work. 11/11/2025 8:33am We had the chance to do some battery testing with Specialized’s Turbo Levo 4 to get some stats on range. I did a test where I did same loop in each mode to see how time/battery consumption/power compared, plus a battery draining ride with a range extender. It was more for exercise, but it was cool (and pretty tiring haha) to see how different modes ate battery, and how far you actually can go on a full-size eeb. I’d be curious to know what kind of range other riders are getting from their bikes. Feel free to list out your...

11/11/2025 7:57am The auto mode on the levo is pretty good and fairly natural feeling to me. I usually use auto- setting for longer rides and try to use eco when I can. For me the key is to try not to go into a higher assist mode because you'll feel so slow afterwards that you cant go back down. The hangover...

11/9/2025 5:23pm Wow that is sick. I tried a similar mod to keep tension on the lower idler but mine kept breaking. What brand is that? I wish they had an ISCG option on I bent a chain ring second ride and had to bash it straight trail side. I went up to a 36t to get a bet more chainstay clearance...
