price is insane.... better to pickup a used one and have it modded for $160. Or just buy the new RS and save yourself 1k.

Sorry but - no. There's no similarity in the type of damping. A wheel is unsprung and dynamic where a Rider in this unique situation is having natural riding oscillations being damped. It's complimenting an existing riding position as opposed to absorbing terrain. Suspend The Rider. Personally, I've been able to ride an STR and the sensation is that of having massive rearward axle path. In rapid and repeatable mannerisms, the rider / bike system are propelled forward upon harsh impacts. As a wheel suspension adaptation, there'd no longer be preloading of the bike and lateral loading of seat stays...

Going to downgrade all my hubs right now. Finally the answer to why I'm not faster. Glad thats cleared up. Pretty curious to see how the WRP center hub works out - as its kind of the ultimate solution to any kickback or chain related effects on suspension. https://www.williamsracingproducts.com/shop/p/centrehub-pre-order https://www.youtube.com/shorts/6egblCiRgYQ Suggestion: Vital article where Robot tests WRP Centrehub vs Ochain vs Normal drivetrain - throw a motion instruments on and see if you can measure any suspension effects / feel anything / time any differences?

Wild speculation - Spec using Diverge STR rear Futureshock as a lightweight damper that fits somewhere between their Epic Hardtail and their epic full sus? (i.e. invert the Diverge layout where seatstay is instead flexstay and provides rear wheel travel instead of seat travel?)

RE: Speculation on the new Specialized Enduro: It's been said a few times and sounds like it's pretty accurate that the new bike is just getting the Stumpjumper EVO treatment. Adjustable head angle, BB, chainstays. Probably some tweaks to leverage curve, carbon layup and base go settings. Won't get a full re-design until they make an enduro version of the prototype Loic and Finn have been riding. They likely have it in the works, but the carbon molds were set for the new Enduro probably before we started seeing Finn racing that prototype DH bike last summer. So the 'new...

re: braydon's zipp wheels - if it's been said, let me know and i'll delete, but his slalom rig wheels are just traditional 27.5 carbon rims w/ zipp stickers on them, nothing new or proto.
