Maybe every bike comes with a drill bit. In all seriousness it'd be interesting to see sales figures at the end of the year to see which version is most popular.

I would think they would just allow for both options on the same frame. If they don't offer you a 'full' top headset cover (without holes for cables) you'll likely end up with some pretty crummy bearings very quickly.

Same experience here concerning the older 11-speed XX1. Got one "lightly" used on PB buy/sell for $100 about two years ago and its performance remains excellent - super light too, can't recall the figure but I feel like it's around 300g. I have no interest or need in 12-speed/$1000 cassettes and a well-tuned GX derailleur w/xx1 provides fast and silky shifts.

Well I didn’t read everyone’s post so there may be some redundancy in this but hey, here’s your warning. I think there is such thing as too low for a BB, especially for longer wheel bases because there will eventually be a moment that you will high center the heck out of something and ruin your day. That said, short cranks have my interest still. I worked at a shop with a pretty accomplished bike fitter who works mainly with triathletes, and he is big on short cranks because it opens up the hips and allows for us mere mortals...

I agree with most the points you're making and I would say you aren't the target audience for a light/less powerful e-bike. A few points to converse on: 1. Not everyone can afford a mountain bike and e-bike. I think a bike like the Levo SL gives riders torn between what kind of bike to buy the option to have one bike that reaps the benefits of both disciplines. 2. I agree that most full power e-bike groups are middle age males, and most brands already offer a model that satisfying those riders. Lightweight e-bikes do target a different user...

I remain unconvinced about the purpose of these light / low power ebikes, particularly for people who are relatively fit and ride often. I own both a full power Levo, and a Nomad, both set up nearly identically. I grab the Levo when I have limited time (or the dirt is REALLY good) to get as much descending in as short a possible time. On my last ride, I did 3,760 ft in 1:04, and had about 60% of the battery left. According to Spec's info, the Levo SL g2 with range extender would run out of juice in full...

at 6 ft, i cant run less than 170, i've tried many lengths but they push my feet together so much it feels like im standing high on the bike which gives that "top heavy" feeling - i know how to pedal so i dont have pedal strikes when going up, Ive only hit my pedals twice in the whole time ive done MTB, both were on big flat pedals and i had my feet in wrong spot. Never hit them on clips.

Those prices ARE insane but maybe worth noting that AUD945 is USD631 (and US MSRP for XX is USD550). Dunno why the Aussies are being asked to pony up the additional USD81 tho... Oh, exchange rate. Ouch.
