I’m glad the the UCI have spent the time and effort to investigate this and make their judgement. I’ve notice on IG, FB and PB there are a lot of guys getting upset about this and I feel that this says a lot about them. This has been an investigation that’s taken months since the accusation and they’ve kept his name out of the media until now. So it shows that they were taking it seriously. Hopefully the replies on here will be better than on the others.

I suspect if you dug into the logic behind the "statics regime" you'd find a fundamental flaw or two. I suspect the logic is that if the IC is on the chain line then chain tension would have no net impact on suspension movement. While this might sound plausible, it has one major flaw... it fails to take into account the reaction force at the tire/ground interface.

no one is denying that the product that goes to press camps isn't dressed up for the best experience. they're just stock products, however. there's nothing special about them aside from prep, so a "camp" product feeling amazing is certainly within the capabilities of every customer fork, right? if i bought at $2000 fork and it didn't feel amazing, i'd sure be asking fox or the dealers why and would get them to make it feel that way or give me my money back.

I think a lot of people get caught up in viewing the shock and spring as one unit. You can look at them as separate entities and the impact of a flex stay makes more sense. The total spring forcing the bike back to top of travel is the combination of the flex stay and the spring on the shock. The damper controls rebound of the entire rear end, so as long as the rebound tune is good for the combined spring rate you’re good.
