i added to my post above with more clarification, FYI. IMO it doesn't come down to shimano (or any brand launching a product) being the problem in this case. they have a launch coming up (they said, june 5). they have to get their product and info in the right places before the launch. it's a kook or two at these places (OE, shops, brands, media, who knows) who are posting things they don't have a right to post. if shimano asks vital to remove stuff but not other outlets, it must mean our viewers are actually important 🤣

Its not crazy at all to think that he is making more than an engineer at the company, almost any other sport is like this. Its just a bike company we are talking about its not like you need to pay an engineer 250K a year.

Thanks Blake, this is exactly the discussion I'm hoping to have on here. What sort of difference would you expect to see in the data? Bike using more travel, using less, more force at the rear axle, or less? My hunch is the bike with bad pedal kick will use less travel because it's getting hung up on the chain/anti-squat as it's trying to compress. (I think this would produce more measurable force at the pedals, too, because you're getting more force in your feet as opposed to absorbed by your rear spring).

Weird sizing

The focus of this being the way they wrote the number 4 which is still a bit different and not focused on the caliper itself which is completely different is kind of funny. When are we gonna start talking about what color crayons taste best cause i feel like we are getting pretty close?

Engineers take the raw data, think through what they see, decide what is happening and make changes to the suspension. Then repeat the run and look at the data again. That's where the engineering part comes in, you interpret the raw data, you don't need the software to tell you if it is good or not. What you see is what you get and it's on you to determine if it is indeed good or bad. Having raw values at least gives you some confidence you are seeing the real thing vs. "add x clicks" where you have no idea...
