I think it would be ideal to have regional series with a national final, but that’s tough. Kudos to Clay and crew for putting this together!

Overall awesome. Although should it be renamed to the USA - East Pro Downhill Series? Honestly I don't know how we have a national series in this country and have it work financially/logistically for most people. I am envious of other countries that have a ripping national series that has all stops under a 5 hour drive because their country is so small. I guess the other thing is we need some better venues in the PNW. Rad to see though! Reading comprehension has never been a skill of mine. Just saw the TBD is somewhere in Cali. So USA...

Seems like frame designers can have adjustable chainstay length or UDH. You can't really have both. unless you go all-in and make modular dropouts like the Banshee Titan or the new Forbidden DH bike. IMO this is the worst part about UDH. Privateer seems to think their typical customer is going to be happier to have adjustable dropouts than the option of running SRAM Transmission, albeit at the cost of an easily sourced universal derailleur hanger.

Not a publication out there that shoots edits 1/10th as clean and engaging as VitalMTB Raw. Major frame/suspension/brake manufactures secretly rely on this footage way more than any of us even realize. Top of the heap

I only watched a few Beyond the lines last year. They were quite good, but after 12 hrs of DH content I normally had my fill. Sadly '24 is looking like Vital Raws and this will be the only way I can watch DH

I don't think you're correct there. In that sentence, Rob is talking about SCB (Santa Cruz Bikes) not the Syndicate. There is recent history there.

We are all assuming a lot here and it will take some time to find out what really is going on, if there really were chemistry issues with the younger stars and what not. I am still curious about the Kathy/Rob/Steve/Greg dynamics and IF it affected things and mayb how. But it's not my business. On the other hand, as passionate fans we are obviously interested in all of this. Greg is portrayed as a picky man these days, most of this perception coming from those Fox videos. But don't forget that Greg has been around for long before that...

I’m not a fan of Transmission at all. With no limit screws, B tension adjustment and a very narrow window of micro adjustment it simply can not work on every frame/hub combo that exists. It relies heavily on somewhat exact tolerances, which the bike industry is very, very poor at executing. I’ve had some bikes shift absolutely flawlessly, some barely function, and most shift “ok” for a 4 figure drivechain. Most of the ones I’ve touched, my own bike included, have a huge problem dropping off of the “adjustment cog” down into the smaller cogs, usually requiring a double shift...

Mine started out on vbrakes and then cable brakes after that. Its all good. Hydros are nice but most cable brakes have some form of adjustment. Dont over think it. But I also say hand brakes. Front and back. Get them dialed using their brakes from an early age! Mine is 5 and some changes now and all ready can use his brakes better than a ton of adults.

I'm not sure Brook even has a ride for 2024. But I believe it's already been discussed that MS is parting ways with Mondraker and then the rumours were that MS Intense would be the new team and that's where Dak Norton was going. And if you are reading these and shouldn't be for your mental health Dak.... Get off vital forums and go work on your pit bike track lol.

Got three Commencal kids bikes in my garage. My kids have enjoyed riding so much more once I got them decent bikes. I see no reason kids can’t enjoy the same things that we do.

I like this thread as I’m a big tire nerd. test idea for vital- test loop (timed climb and descent) on: enduro bike with enduro tires enduro bike with xc tires xc bike with xc tires Xc bike with enduro tires id love to know where speed % comes from. Use a power meter to equalize climbing effort.

Well you can still have part of what you want. Just buy the Misspent Summers Hurly Burly year book for the old school in-depth reportage, geek facts, photography, BTS and storylines each year. More pages and less ads than Dirt too.

While these look really neat and well thought out (speaking as a dad who’s got young kids) will they actually ever get released what with Nukeproof’s (and parent company’s) current situation? Or is there an automated computer program that’s just sending out NP press releases on certain dates?
