SteveClimber Added a comment about feature Home Grown - Frameworks DH Bike Tested

Excellent review, really stoked to see Ryan testing bikes for you guys hes been one of the best members of the vital forum community. Out of interest, could you guys measure the bar to ground height of some of the DH bikes on test, I'm curious if the high stack this bike has is because of a low BB, and the bar to ground measurement is actually quite similar to other brands.

The easy fix for wet conditions is to wind back compression damping, since your not going as fast you need less damping, and it'll reduce the risk of a slide out from loading the bike too much in a corner (you can only load the bike as hard as the compression+spring force push back at you). A more complete setup...

It's not as simple as a clip, but I've just adjusted negative volume by adding or removing the top out bumper, as most dampers have enough rebound to negate a top out clunk anyway. The rockshox HBO feature on the zeb is an interesting one, as I don't think we've seen any of the prototype forms with a coil spring...

Linear forks (and shocks) work best with higher amounts of damping like an Ohlins, or Avy setup, essentially anything with more damping than a stock rockshox or Fox damper. The extra damping dissipates more energy consistently through the stroke meaning you can still run a spring with great small bump and have less bottom outs as it takes more total...

Of course the Californian says that. Ronan was 100% pushing last week, Amaury too before the cartwheeled. Weather is just part of racing, it is what it is. They try and have the rounds in somewhat good weather (except MSA in October lol), but if it rains it rains.

I would be surprised if most of the YT team doesnt get picked up elsewhere, very solid riders with strong support, obviously Texi is retiring Kasper Wooley will probably struggle due to his persistant injuries, but Oisin, Andreas, Moi Moi and Vali will get a ride somewhere. Its the freeriders and slopestyle riders that get really boned out of YT...

The head tube angle. The force rotates the bike the bike around its centre of mass from the head tube angle since the fork will compress and translate any force to it's angle. Just ignore the rider mass, as the TMD's are there for chassis stability not rider. You've got arms and legs for that.

I totally agree with your opinion on the overall pricing of the market Jeff. I'm quite outspoken that the quality of bikes and components we get for inflation adjusted prices is absolutely insane. Obviously Specialized $14k USD top end bikes are not good value for money, but the quality of engineering and construction on $4k bikes is pretty insane. Overall...

I was told they had a couple sites in mind. The Tassie trail builders were at crankworx and I believe (I haven't spoken to them yet) were shown around by red Bull for their thoughts. The Red Bull team were impressed at the Tassie course and safety standards and wanted their input on the BC course. The name they were...
Just wait is my tip, the pads will generate enough dust they get stuck to the pistons in time. Every time I get new pads or give the brakes a good clean and remove the dust I get the rattle again, but it goes away in a week naturally. A piece of tap over the top of the caliper touching...
Maybe they re-buult the motorway jumps that run into it, seeing as they were the worst jumps in a DH track this decade and a spot of national shame for French trail builders trying to shed their reputation. So you might be arriving with a lot more speed and they had to do something

Just to give you guys a quick update - I am fully pausing on rolling out further beta testing simply because you guys helped me see there is a much better opportunity here than I maybe thought originally. I want to ship something that is really useful, and that you all really find value in, which means I need to bring in some real software engineers to tighten some of the code and make sure the product meets expectations. Plus, its very clear to me I'll need to be shipping android versions alongside iOS. Feel free to put feature &...

Moving aside from commuter talk, if you go to Europe you will see why ebikes have become so incredibly popular, and it's because they have real mountains really close. Holidaying in the Alpes, or any mountain region for that matter, is incredibly popular, and hiking and riding is merging into e-bike sales now. It's crazy how many people are riding...

There is an interesting interplay going on here between the human brains capacity to normalize things that have been seen/done before, expanded boundaries of athletic performance and a few new tracks evolving up to a comparative level. I think if we could see 1199 with “new” eyes, watching riders learn the track for the first time, it would likely be seen in a similar light as La Thuile BUT because we now know what to expect and are watching riders who have largely expanded their comfort zones for large features ride a track that they are familiar with our subconscious...

Anyone think 1199 doesn't feel as crazy progressive a race track as it was when it first raced than today, mostly because of tracks like La Thuile have really elevated the world cup circuit. That's not the best wording, but I think 1199 felt like a Hardline style race track, but other than the massive drop it has features we've...
