1/18/2026 12:46pm Nope. I asked and they considered it. But said it's a significant step, they're happy doing protection for now.

1/18/2026 12:45pm Maybe I'm mistaken, but before the current Firebird released (after the Phoenix) we saw photos of a carbon prototype of a 2 chains Firebird, that obviously they didn't continue with. This is either and old prototype, or another brands bike in my opinion. @Trocko I think people are staying away from aftermarket Phoenix parts seeing how the frames are doing...

1/16/2026 1:13pm A huge benefit for electronic derailleurs is service time. Which is also a big reason why SRAM have pushed electronics to begin with. For mechanics it means everytime they do a rebuild/bearing swap it means no derailleur shenanigans.

1/12/2026 5:32pm Tucking isn't the best guide to go by, as there are often sections where you would want to tuck, but can't as you have to pump or absorb bumps etc. If you imagine aero farings on a bike, the leogang motorway. Ft bill motorway and the lake placids lower section would all be faster with a more aero setup. By...

1/9/2026 1:10pm Time patented ATAC in 1998, that would have expired by now, so I'm presuming anyone can make a similar system? As a time pedal user I'm surprised more people haven't copied it. It works so well. But I guess it does have more natural float than an SPD

12/14/2025 2:24pm It depends if your racing or not really. A lot of people set up their bikes for comfort on their regular trails. If your racing you just want to maximise cornering speed, so if it rattles your teeth out over some rocky chatter, just hold on as it worth it to exit the corner faster and save 0.5s on the...

12/12/2025 10:14pm I absolutely agree heavy tires and wheels make a big difference, just not in suspension performance. Heavy tires and wheels impart positive and negative handling characteristics. Same as weight, add 1kg and the bike is quite a bit harder to bunny hop. Because taking a 16kg bike to 17kg is a 6% increase. For suspension however it the system weight...

12/12/2025 6:10pm Even heavy wheels really don't make that much of a difference. It's just due to the relative strength of the forces. Put your bike in a stand and try cycle the rear to sage point. It's a LOT for force than what people assume. 200g of a derailleur is just nothing in comparison. People think 500g/1kg would make a huge...

12/8/2025 4:33pm Replying to this and the 3.2 damper. There will be a new boxxxer and Zeb coming with tweaked dampers for the new airspring that we have got the spy shots of.

11/27/2025 11:25am As a life long Campy fun, it's sad to see them go this way. My first road bikes has Chorus on them, and it was a fantastic group set. Campy were a genuinely innovative company in the road market for quite a while, and ignoring some of their painful standards, it's frustrating to see them abandon the middle road and...

11/26/2025 2:22am There's more than one way to skin a cat. You don't have to deliver a Stephen Sackur HARDtalk style aggressive rebuttal based interview to provide insight. You can just let your interviewee make his case, ask the questions and let him respond. Give him the rope as they say. For anyone complaining about the interview, who has listened to it...

11/19/2025 12:12pm Normally the easiest way to identify the brand is where it's been ridden. If it's Bellingham it's Evil or Transition, Colorado it's a Yeti etc etc. But it's safe to say that the proto isn't coming to market. Full carbon frame in 2023 and we haven't seen it again since? They tested it and for whatever reason didn't continue with...

11/17/2025 12:33pm Push own a patent for fenders that extend up from the stanchion guards and sit on top of the tyre (exactly like a "normal" fender, just attached to the stanchion guards either side) that is meaning companies aren't bringing them to market in fear of cease and desist notices. You can get them from certain people who will 3D print...

11/12/2025 4:30pm Ok, yeah i totally agree with all of this. I guess its similar to how european cars are becoming more and more disposable because of the technology included in all the parts these days. Like how if you get in a fender bender in a Mercedes and damage a headlight, the whole light surround needs to be replaced at the...
