I cannot believe how inane the convo around 32 is. Please, people: you are saying the exact same things they said about 29.

I've been riding them for a few seasons. Pretty great. I treat them like garbage and have not had any problems.

So something to note on pricing that is coming through. and this is not meant to be a political post. but the new steel tariffs HIGHLY affect bike prices. ESPECIALLY e-bikes. basically all the bike companies have to figure out the percentage of steel in a bike (HS, bearings, cassette, motors) and then that times the pricing of the bike etc. And these are not cheap... like some bikes increasing close to $1k just on tariff prices.... (cross posted to bike economics thread)

Any word on timing? I'm curious to see that Tallboy

if only people could watch Jackson and realize his size medium chainstay size is a handful of mm off my XL 29 V10.7 in long and his bike proportions are right around 1.8 and yet someway and somehow he is still playful... hmmmmmmm

@Amart1500 and @bigbrett , please join me in harassing Raaw to make an XXL downcountry bike in the comments on the Pinkbike article from today. And for everyone else... I'll shut up about XXLs now. But Santa Cruz better be planning an XXL Tallboy!

Ideally you'd have every second sprocket off a 12 speed cassette and have the classified hub and the derailleur controlled off the same hub to effectively get 12 gears in a narrower package. (The Classified hub gear would cover the big jumps in gears on the cassette and the derailleur would only shift every second gear.)

Analog riders are the new kooky single speeders. If you think motors make riding too easy then please don’t do the math for how much mechanical advantage gears give you. There isn’t a lot of juice to squeeze from frames since we’re mainly hitting human rights issues on how good a frame can be while still being affordable. We’re still probably not paying the true price for bike when you factor in environmental and human effects of the manufacturing process. That’s where I see the biggest need for innovation. It’s amazing to me though that you unironically list electronic shifting...

Just get a Mondraker or Ibis if you want crazy reach. I'm 6'4" and ride a Large Commencal Meta SX with a 485 reach and don't have any issues..

I bet the Ripley SL will come in an XL that has a reach of 540mm

@ebruner and @cmaac : I've definitely looked into that Norco Revolver. It's definitely the biggest XC bike right now, but I'm 6'7" and it would be hard to make a plausible attempt at making it fit. Fingers crossed for an XXL something this spring.

100% a guarantee that size XL will have a messed up front to rear center ratio compared to smaller sizes, and probably the same thing for stack to reach ratio. I’m hoping Pivot will some day evolve their larger sized frame geometry, but maybe their testing environment in AZ limits their geometry ratio consistency?

Manitou has selected this particular paint scheme to make it so German U-boats will be unable to accurately estimate Manitou riders' speed and heading.
