Here are a couple of plots for you. The first is looking at how fast the chain length is growing. This is pretty much to compare how chain forces will impact pedaling between the two. The higher the number the more chain tension will try and pull the bike up in travel. On some bikes that number can go negative later in travel. That would signify that pedaling would actually pull the bike into its travel at that point. For the Stumpjumper Evo, this number is pretty in line with other bikes in the category. The V3 Hightower is a...

I don’t have my computer on my so I can’t dig up the numbers you’re talking about right away. I’ll gladly share them when I get a chance though. The reason they aren’t listed is because the change is imperceptible. Anti squat and anti rise largely dependent on axle path/IC and it’s hard to really change that without changing more suspension members or moving frame pivot points. There is a bit of a tendency for people to hyper focus on numbers in a way I don’t believe is healthy. For example some links might make the axle path 1-2mm more...

I agree, but maybe start a new thread asking that question instead of bringing them here to see this one. I want to be educated from the start, and not have to read through the negativity posted here. Tell you what, I’ll do it for us.

Fine, I'll bite. So I own a Forbidden Dreadnought and I also own the cascade link for the dreadnought. It is a well made product that feels and look like a quality part. It fit perfectly, and with a bit of help from Pinner machine shop, it worked great with my EXT. So props to cascade for the great part. 10/10. Is this part still on my bike? No. Would I recommend it to other dreadnought owners? Probably not. I actually feel like the link made the first 2/3rds of my travel amazing, like seriously the best I've ever felt...

Literally yes. It's easier for me. Call shop. Order part. Zero shipping charge . Free shipping online has ridiculous consequences & I am sick of having a BOX in a box at my house to "recycle". It's gross to have insane amounts of packaging. I recycle but the time, effort and utter clutter & waste of ordering something to my door and it coming in another box with plastic pouches & crumpled paper is assanine. Every time I pick up something at the shop, I'm able to be a human again. Pick up something I forgot I need. Find out...

The more you cut out bike shops, you more you remove yourself from the equation. Douche move even if you're trying to compete with Specialized & Trek who bought out all the independent dealers. Establish a better dealer network & work harder to keep dealers in business. Every time you make up the excuse that buying direct doesn't affect a dealer, you're literally feeding the monster that will devour you. The fewer humans involved with your bike company, the further removed you are from justifying the purchase to the consumer. Selling direct turns you into a commodity like corn. You...

How do you like the coil on that bike? I was told by someone that this new EVO frame wasn't meant to be used with a coil but didn't give a good reason why it wouldn't work.

The Evo LR isn't all that progressive but the Cascade link gets it there nicely. Since a coil shock is linear, a more progressive LR helps keep the bike up in it's travel a fair bit better, among other things. If you just ride chundery trails the coil shock will work very well with the stock linkage and this would be preferable even to having more progression. But if you like to go big, this frame sure likes the Cascade link, really with either an air or coil shock.

Can someone explain how a bike like that, with these parts came in at over 34lb? Thats a top end build all across the board and the Stumpy is already on the lighter end for that kind of bike....so confused.

Yeah, I saw those and they definitely add up. Was still just surprised given the EXC wheels, all the Ti goodies etc.
