When I was at Canfield Bikes, we had a customer/shop owner who had like 4 or 5 different models personally. He had one dropper post he took between the different bikes. From hardtail to DH bike he took his AXS post between them all. While maybe an extra step to go ride, it allows for a dropper on any bike...

Not to bring the wireless debate back up, but that's the one scenario I'd own a wireless dropper. That, and if the battery powered droppers would lower themselves. I'm betting it's 148 with the plethora of DH bikes that have gone that direction recently: YT, GT, Transition, Forbidden, Frameworks, Spesh (ahead of the curve on this one lol?)

As Nick said, moto steering stabilizers with the full mounting setup are expensive. The Precision Parabolic damper is sort of the latest and greatest and is $750 for the full setup. I previously ran a Scott's stabilizer (design came from Ohlins) and those are just as or more expensive for the full package. Guessing the mtb stabilizer market isn't going to be moto sized, so not surprised by the cost whatsoever. Owning my own business made me accutely aware of shifting my loyalties away from corporations whenever possible. My brand loyalty used to lie firmly w/ Turner Bikes b/c no one has ever treated customers better than DT. Have ALWAYS supported Hayes when possible. They went out of their way for decades to support me & us. Specialized, even though former friends, shops, even employees/acquantances were part of the brand always leaves me feeling "empty". Never had an emotional connection to the company or the brand. Oddly enough, I ride a 2022 Kona Process 153 27.5 full time. I'm short &...

I built up an Ibis HD4 frame years ago and had issues with a lower pivot creaking. After reassembling and torqueing to spec, the issue persisted so I dropped in to their factory with no notice/appointment to see if they had some advice. The guy at the front desk called someone on the phone, and a dude came down from his office to see what the issue was. He told me that he had engineered the frame and acknowledged that the torque spec had proven to be too low. He put my bike in the stand and replaced the (titanium)...

Given stems cost more than $50 these days I think that would be an impossible target. Moto steering dampers start at around $350 and get up there quite quick. Early MTB ones (Hopey is the only one I can think of) weren't approaching $650 but they were several hundred bucks 20 years ago. This seems to be quite a technical...

Bad precedent to leave a 2 month gap to draw eyes/interest/fans to other sports. Causes emotional detachment from a heated title chase. A loss of story line. Distracted viewership who will need a constant reminder to tune back in. Like when I forget to watch the 1st week of NFL games. My biggest concern is "why" do we really have the gap? 1. Do venues not WANT or even NEED us during summer? 2. Does this cause concern for Warner Bros/Discovery to break revenue/labor/staffing for 2 full months 3. WIll fans miss the next round's live stream hurting paid viewership/response...

I hate it, I am gong to sound like an old man but why can't it be like the way it was back in the late 90's early 00's with World Cup rounds being not so spread out and the NORBA'S over in America when the fields were stacked, it seemed like the DH season lasted ages and there was more to see or read about in mags.

The intense dh wasnt the best race tire. It weighed a ton and had super burley casings. It was amazing for super steep and/or loose dirt. You could run them with sub 20psi and still push in corners and the slow rebound rubber worked really well on rock slabs. Nothing like them. Game changer for that type of riding. Until they changed tire manufacturer and all the side knobs started ripping off. They were done shortly after that

Too long, because it forces the first and last race to be too close to spring/fall weather. Even though I LOVE a good mud race. And it's not like we've been able to avoid them regardless. But still... seems an improper use of seasonal timing. My bigger gripe is champs being mid-season. I dunno if I'm missing something but I'd love for it to be after the season as the last race essentially. Overall is already settled, those who had no choice at overall can coast and then send it for champs. And the overall leader can send it as...

I just wanna see more racing. We are in a gap of MX racing right now but in general they race nearly every week for almost the entire year. Yes there are gaps between seasons and such but let's get more racing back on the calendar.

What is old is new again... Someone will have better luck with the search engines finding them but decades ago Intense (I think) did actually do this. ITS (Intense Tire Systems) existed - and also had a custom version of Five.Ten shoes, pre-Adidas - and they tried making some tires out of the shoe rubber. A few pro riders tested...

Pademelon steering dampers are officially for sale. These are the dampers all of the Aussies and many other pro's have been running this season. https://pademelon.cc/ Not cheap (understatement) however. 800 $AUD for just the damper

No this was on the Peacock app on Roku. It didn't do it on men's when I watched that back. If you've not watched it via the TV app, there are little dots at the bottom of screen indicating ad breaks.Same thing for moto & SX. You can skip ahead on the timeline if there are 2 or 3 in a short span and your penalty is they just play one ad break as you come out of fast forward. Women's Olympic XC had close to 20 ad break dots on the timeline so I'd get 5 minutes of action...

having done a full rebuild on a spark last week i can say that bike sucks, so does the routing, the hidden shock and the whole concept ( broken bolts and all the crap that enters the headset find it's way down the frame where the precious shock is hidden ) such a crappy bike honestly

A Propain employee was on Pinkbike saying they read the comments on their bike reviews and they got it wrong with headset cable routing as everyone didn't want it. So kudos to them for listening.

Purely sarcasm guy. But to be honest, didn't expect the first sentence of Monday to be "Pidcock Wins" in the Vital gravity fan club.
