7/31/2026 11:55am “all e-bikes are better than any regular bike” is one of the most insane, fat-lazy-guy-coded, bad mountain biker takes i have ever read congratulations

7/31/2026 11:37am They have nothing wrong with their bikes. Like remove the brand from the frame and Im intrigued. But you put ari on it and I just hate it. Astroturfing, diapers and basic bikes to look like theyre apart of the same boat as Canyon or Specialized, then they just have this design… they just infuriate me lol.

7/15/2026 11:39am I know I’m in the minority here but I’d take a slightly cheap feeling shifter that feels like a shifter over one that feels like adjusting the volume on a cheap bluetooth speaker any day.

7/14/2026 12:08pm The absence of Wyn TV this round leaves a massive void for me. And since I've been a massive critic of the commentary in the past it's definitely attained a level of acceptability now with the addition of Mark Beaumont. The last 3 rounds have been a huge improvement by them. I could not handle listening to Rob Warners watch along commentary because of the two morons sitting in the room with him

7/14/2026 12:07pm Seems like Asa is forming a bad habit of being slow out of the gate. His S1 times in the last 2 races are what have kept him from the top of the podium.

7/8/2026 10:15am Little insight I got. July release for yeti Avinox cvt system is not 100% and far out from coming to the market. Apparently issues with the system auto shifting down when rider puts high watts combine with motor. Sounds like System protecting itself. Not sure if this is just a software or the system not being able to handle it. We’ll see. Some high ups in specialized are not happy. A nasty email sent to engineers/ product developers to step it up and motor/gearbox combo bike priority 1 Specialized has an unreleased bike the industry will get to see at...

7/8/2026 9:59am Dario from PB was riding one at Sun Peaks July 2/3 (think they were doing a field test, saw Matt Beer and Jesse Melamed aswell). He just grinned at the question of how to compares to the old one. Dunno if was anything but I also saw a Banshee DH bike at Silverstar two days later with a bunch of telemetry related stuff on the rear of the bike, not keen enough to have noticed if it was a revised Legend or if it pertained to the rear shock (didn't recognize it)

7/8/2026 9:58am Yeah for sure, our perceptions are generally not that reliable. I was more just reacting to saying the drum testing is "flawed". I think it's more just that it's limited than flawed, which I get that you understand, but I think a lot of people don't. Enduro mag did test radial tires. Unfortunately BRR voting is dominated by roadies and so they don't produce any data on gravity tires really, and only just cover XC tires. https://enduro-mtb.com/en/mtb-tire-test-weight-rolling-resistance-punct… They showed that in their testing the Magic Mary (the only tread pattern available in radial and non-radial) was ~5w slower in the...

7/8/2026 9:56am It wont this year. They made the mistake of designing it without a gearbox. Scrapping the whole lower half of the bike.

7/7/2026 10:17am The average rider does care about efficiency, most just don't know how to articulate it. They talk about the bike feeling slow, or that they're working really hard on climbs, and making improvements to how efficient the bike is (mostly by going to faster rolling, lighter weight tires since most are on traditional drivetrains) makes a huge difference to their ride experience. Can't forget the average rider isn't smashing wheels and ripping off derailleurs all the time, and shouldn't build their bikes up like a lot of us do.

7/2/2026 9:17am I am going to be completely transparent here in that I work for FSA, but I will say I worked really hard on making the 31.8 40mm Gradient alloy bar one of the most compliant on the market. and here is the proof: (chart from PB article)

6/1/2026 11:14am I think it has more to do with the speed they are carrying, the gradient of the slope, and the lack of trees. They are straight hauling so any little mistake and you are traveling a pretty good distance in the wrong direction real quick. The slope is pretty steep in the bottom where a lot of people are going off, they are trying to hold on a off camber with the worse dust and loose rocks showing up off line so miss your rut and all of a sudden you are along for the ride. The course is pretty...

6/1/2026 11:14am To say riders wouldn’t have dsq’d today if there were tape would be a huge underestimation of the prep these riders put into a race run. Once race day comes along they aren’t seeing flags or tape anymore, just their line. Now I would argue that tape can sometimes be less confusing for the viewer on the broadcast but I think the lack of plastic waste and not getting tangled in the tape is worth that small trade off.

6/1/2026 11:13am You can really tell with the delay that they're announcing off site. They're always a moment or move behind where Rob and team would explode in the moment that something happened if what they were watching. It takes the enjoyment out of it almost completely. When Gracey hit the hole in that corner and almost lost it, she's recovered and was two corners out by the time they addressed it. Same as when Vergier crashed.

6/1/2026 11:13am Now that Luca got his first Elite win, are Bernard Kerr and Dakotah Norton now the two currently active male riders who've entered the most World Cup races without an Elite win? If so, I wonder which of them is more likely to get a win. Luca had 78 WC races, with 3 2nd place finishes, before today. If Roots & Rain is accurate, here are their numbers: Bernard: 113 WC races, best finish 2nd (1 time). He's been in 1 final this year, finishing 21st. Dakotah: 69 races, best finish 2nd (2 times). He hasn't qualified for a final...

6/1/2026 11:12am Good for Luca to grab a win, perservance there for sure. Also two different American winners back to back, has that ever happened? Hell have there even been two different Americans to win one in a single season? Finally if they're going to just do the commentary in a studio somewhere can they get a team that understands the assignment? I feel like most of us would do a better job at being insightful, plus their timing is just ridiculous off pace, splits happening and 30 seconds until they even notice it while they're still blabbing about if they can...
