3/17/2026 8:49am I haven't noticed a difference! Though wet winter riding is not the best for noticing rolling speed differences.

3/16/2026 4:46pm As a fellow V2 Druid owner, it does not seem that the 2.5 Tacky Chan is as tall as a Albert. Mounted to a 30mm internal RF Era. I'd run it in the dry, but in the mud it could be problematic. Conversely, my wife runs a 25mm internal rim in the rear of her V2 Druid and her 2.5"...

3/12/2026 9:39am That’s been available for years. I have one in my basement that I throw on when I’m feeling weird and want to change it up.

3/10/2026 8:06am Well the Dread wouldn't have a warranty since it's used. Forbidden is quite good about crash replacements and doing what they can to help though. Assuming the Specalized is new, so it would have a warranty. As for the build kit wise, I'd say the Dread is superior for basically every component. If setup right, Deore XT will shift just...

3/9/2026 11:36am Riding the in the PNW, the radials are the best tires I've ridden in wet conditions. More grip than any comparable tire I've ridden and feel great at high speeds, although the MM doesn't match the outright cornering of the HR3. There is definitely an adjustment period from standard casings but at my weight (170) I don't have to run excessively high pressure. I think whether they work for you is likely terrain and rider dependent. I love them in the wet but don't see as much advantage in dry conditions. I'm also the odd one out because I love...

3/5/2026 10:18am Stay tuned for updates to the TC. It works better on the front of the bike now.

3/5/2026 10:14am Anyone in the know (or Schwalbai) have an idea of when we'll actually see Tacky chan / big betty in radial? What's taking so long?

3/5/2026 10:19am The Shredda's can definitely be seen as overkill, but so are coil shocks on trail bikes. It dosen't mean there aren't benefits to such upgrades. We are in a era where some riders obsess over weight, and some care very little about an extra 200g if it means they have more grip/confidence on the downs. Good thing there are options...

3/3/2026 10:07am Completely agree. I have ridden and raced the eddy current front quite a bit in 2.6 and 2.4. I found much better loose over hard performance and more predictable behavior than the magic mary in corners. Way better wet rock and root performance too with the large center blocks. I think in my experience I would put it somewhere between the assegai and the DHF in terms of feel. Which is a good thing. That being said the radial version of the magic mary has grown on me and somewhat replaced the eddy current as my preference for PNW winter...

2/13/2026 3:20pm Spot on. Ideal operating pressures is often neglected from testing and comparisons, rightfully so because it's like opening pandoras box. The Enduro-MTB test was cool to compare many different brands/treads/casings/compounds, but a control pressure of 1.5bar/22psi is certainly not ideal for many tires. At 200lbs, I started riding the Mary Trail Pro Radial at 22psi on the front (what i...

2/13/2026 3:07pm To JVP's point about rougher terrain... Coming from the world of cyclocross tubulars.... A super supple casing at 20psi (almost riding on the rim) is faster on very bumpy grass/rough fields than a stiffer casing tire at 30psi because of deflection (casing having to deform over bumps). The same is true these days with UCI road racing and gravel racing. All are going to lower pressures and all have supple casings. Also, rolling resistance tests on drums are helpful for comparisons between tires, but they aren't fully translatable to the real-world trails. The Radials definitely rolls slow on smooth terrain...

2/4/2026 9:35am if they release the radial tacky right after I bought these alberts... I'm going to cry soft man-tears i was in between them for weeks. trying to read reviews. but i wanted to try radial, ideally without killing me on the climb.

1/6/2026 8:50am I've been running the Schwalbe Shredda rear up front. That tire is absolutely amazing. Kind of like a cheat code! It has very high rolling resistance and is a bitch to pedal. When I'm coasting downhill I can see how much faster the people i'm riding with can coast purely due to rolling resistance. One big thing I've noticed is the insane braking power the shredda gives on the front. I'm fairly certain it's the huge center blocks that give it that braking power but also contribute to it rolling so slowly. I think what I'd really like is to...

12/15/2025 3:26pm Carcass layers dosen't change from Super Ground -> Super Trail. The 70g increase comes from the Apex supportive sidewall layer. This yields a noticeable benefit in tire stability during corners as well as pinch flats. HD6 is a bit of a brawler, and considering it's Enduro based intentions, is probably better served with a Super Gravity on the back imo...
