5/12/2026 9:28am It's not so much that 2 layers were added, its that now both of the 2x67epi carcass layers are now extend ontop of each other under the tread cap (before it was just one layer that extend to the end of the lap.

5/8/2026 7:58am I think the other commenters were correct in saying the refined tread pattern of the TC, and the updated Ultrasoft Compound, may be what you are noticing. No updates to the Trail, just the Gravity casing. @theweaz you'd probably like this. The previous gen Gravity Pro casing leaned more towards a Super Gravity casing. The updated version is closer to...

5/7/2026 3:26pm First off, there is warranty on schwalbe tires so you should check that out. You should consider the Eddy Current, now comes in radial. Gravity casing weighs 1480g for 29x2.5, but it's pretty damn durable. Ideal for rear wheel on e-bikes. Romy could be good. Defintley faster rolling and lighter at 1355g. But on the rear you may chew through...

5/6/2026 12:39pm I believe the lock ring flange actually sits "in" the lower cluster and behind the 10T and/or 12T cog. Jump to ~2:08.

5/6/2026 10:41am +1 Can someone please explain if Sram did anything special to achieve this? Or was this all just a bait and switch.

5/6/2026 10:34am I thought I read that it was just the Gravity casing layup that got changed - maybe I misread. That's why I am so surprised at being able to run normal pressures in the Trail Pro. Not complaining at all though!

5/5/2026 8:53am I've settled on this. TC radial soft/Romy Race Pro rear. Outside of the wet season in the PNW I've decided I prefer standard casings on the rear (burp less, break free a bit easier, and roll faster).

4/16/2026 10:56am Got the new tires. These things feel burly af. The gravity pro casing is noticeably more firm in hand than the regular radial gravity casing. The new TC pattern looks great too. Looking forward to shredding these.

4/15/2026 10:56am Haven't ridden the updated Gravity Pro yet, so i couldn't tell you from personal experience. I'm a 200lb enduro rider, and i generally find the Trail Pro to be sufficient. From a technical standpoint; The previous Gravity Pro was a 4 layers of 67epi carcass under the tread, and 4 on the sidewall. Snakeskin on sidewall only, and apex supportive...

4/15/2026 9:15am Rock Razor was definitely a fun tire. I think the closest tire we now have is the Gravity ROMY. Way better braking as well. Listed weight of the 29x2.35 Gravity Rock Razor was 1030g, but i'm pretty sure it was a extra 200g more than that... Basically the same as 29x2.4 Gravity Pro Romy Diagonal.

4/14/2026 10:02am Just a prototype at this point. There was already a lot to focus on with new/updated radial offerings, updated Gravity Pro casing, updated Ultrasoft compound, and our revised nomenclature/structure. All of that is covered here btw: https://www.schwalbetires.com/mtb-families

4/13/2026 2:07pm Sounds like a 27.5x2.5 Trail Pro Romy Radial Soft would be ideal

4/13/2026 11:17am Happy to help breakdown all the new tech. We've been excited about this drop, lots of new changes to communicate! All new Gravity Pro casings have been updated. This is indicated by the blue "Pro" label. Previous versions of the Albert, Mary, Shredda F/R have the previous design.
