Local dealer said new Status is next, 2 models a 140mm and a 170mm. The 170mm is going to be dual crown compatible. Apparently, will be out in about 3 weeks. Pretty sure both will allow mechanical shifting too 😉

I understand the thunderstorm concern. That means possible lightning. That mean lifts have to be stopped. That means spectators have to cleared from track. Wind and Rain yeah you can race in that.

At this point I think Loic's mechanic is just finding new ways to troll us bike nerds.

Or you're Chaz Maz and you just throw on the same shock from your old Stumpy and call it good.

Just saw on the PB article that there’s no routing option for a cable drive train on the new stumpy. What the fuck is wrong with these people.

Looks like there isn't a cable port hole on the drive-side chainstay, even. Wireless-only?

The first word that comes to mind is "underwhelming", especially for all the hype leading up to this launch. This is pretty standard trail bike geo, minus the fact that it stil has a sub 77 degree seat angle and the rear center could be considered short for a bike in 2024/25. That said, it's refreshing to see balanced reach with tall stack on a bike in this travel category but that's still nothing earth shattering considering other manufacturers are also starting to do this. My initial opinion is that they're leaning on the proprietary shock alone to set this bike...

A deep dive on the other site had me find this unreleased article. Can't click on it but surely it can't be far away I'm unable to tell whether it's mechanical or wireless, apologies for the poor quality screenshot.

Doesn't have to be S tier build to have proprietary suspension. Take the Trek Supercaliber or Specialized Epic WC for example. They just omit the kashima coating and fancy components on cheaper builds. Regardless, less stoked to hear that Specialized might be going back to proprietary suspension. It is highly unlikely that Fox is releasing another shock in their newly revised lineup (Float SL, Float, Float X). It sounds like this new stumpy would be using a modified version of the new Float.
