4/20/2026 5:55pm It may not be a "whole separate sport", but there sure is a "whole separate text thread" for the e-bike riders in my friend circle. Now we rarely have big group rides as the crew is split in two and it's a pain to ride laps with both bike types together. So I'd say its a "whole different discipline" of pedaling a rolling thing with your feet.

4/19/2026 1:11pm Kit Works Gear Storage Kitworks makes a bunch of storage solutions to help organize gear for basically any activity. Everything is super modular and durable, and I’ve been using one of their gear boxes in my van for the past year to keep bleed kits and spare parts neatly packed away but readily available. Way better than my old method of using a cardboard box ha! Some of the bags fold down pretty small too which is also nice.

4/19/2026 1:05pm Mug’s and replacement units for older e-bikes is actually fucking dope to combine. Kinda figured someone would jump to offer a upgraded motor for old e-bikes, like a smaller TQ unit could be made to fit backward compatible, but going all in on a gearbox and making the whole system serviceable is actually making your clanky-clackattity old Shimano bike relevant again!

4/16/2026 1:22pm If I was looking for a bike I wouldn't let it not being an avinox motor be the deciding factor. Buy a bike from whatever shop you like, these are going to break, have errors and software bugs Buy something with the Geo/Travel you want for the riding style you like, this will mean more than the motor Really think about what you want do you want power for short rides or range for longer adventure rides. I still think the Bosch system balance this ratio the best. After riding the m2 system I am not immediately thinking oh I...

4/16/2026 1:20pm It's very noticeable in Handling especially the higher up the weight is placed. Levo gets noticeable more sluggish if you swap the 500 for the 700 battery. The weights seem also to be stagnating thanks to the batteries getting bigger. As a lighter rider I don't need the additional power. I would love to have a lighter E-Bike tho with a fast swappable battery in two sizes.

4/15/2026 1:16pm In my experience, forearm pump is 100% related to brake power. Lack of brake power can come from a thousand different sources, but when brakes start to fade, hands and forearms start to hurt and everything on your body and bike has to compensate. Could be caused by: bad brake design, bad bleed, rotors too small in diameter, rotors too thin (1.8mm vs. 2.0 or 2.3), rotors worn out, old pads, wrong pad material, contamination, and more. Now, I have noticed that "holding onto the handlebars and moving my body around" is harder when my brakes aren't working. Typically, when...

4/15/2026 1:02pm Hey all, I can finally take off my very sneaky blue tape camouflage to reveal that yes, I’m reviewing the new Nomad. Because I’ve spent so many years on the old Megatower, I’m framing this as a Megatower vs. Nomad comparison. Especially interesting for me because of the rumors that the Megatower is going away and the new Nomad does not take 29” rear wheels. I only have a couple rides in on the new bike, but so far the geometry feels really good and the bike feels solid and stout. Weirdly I haven’t been able to figure out the...

4/15/2026 12:15pm I bought one of these in 2018 for $6000 AUD ($4275) the spec was ridiculous, fox factory front and back, shimano di2, saint brakes etc with double down tyres it still only weighed 22kg. Sure it was ugly as sin, but chucking a 29 inch front wheel on that bike it was amazing. so 8 years later, we are catching up at triple the cost. ~22kg. The only difference is peak power and 300wH more battery? yes, it was ugly as sin. But the ability to swap a battery in 10 seconds was nice.

4/15/2026 12:12pm Categorizing full power ebike riders as "low effort" doesn't reflect reality. The best dh riders in my area ("retired" moto racers) go hard on the ups and downs. They absolutely charge, and want a 45-50 pound bike anyways for the dh. They also kill it on the climbs

4/15/2026 12:11pm You're missing the point. For a two pound penalty you can have double the range. You can set your avinox to a low eco mode and have the same gentle assistance. The first time you try and go on a ride with your full power ebike friends on your TQ you'll understand that it just makes so much more sense to have a bike that can do both

4/15/2026 10:19am Rode the new pivot at a shop over the weekend. I have a g4 levo. The new dji stuff is insanely fast, its only usable on roads. Its like surron response just with pedals. I dont see how something with this much power doesn't create conflict.
