12/7/2023 10:30pm Actually its not as bad as it seems at all The S3 has a 460 chainstay and 1295 wheelbase (im assuming the reported numbers aren't at sag values) At sag, that gives a 480 chainstay and 1315 wheelbase, giving a front centre of 835, and a FC/RC ratio of 1.74 At maximum length it has a 34mm extension of the chainstay, so 494 chainstay, 1329 wheelbase, FC/RC ratio of 1.69 So actually pretty balanced overall. In my opinion that is a lot better balanced geometry than the mega long Poles at their like with 1.85+ FC/RC ratios

12/1/2023 5:11am Are you serious regarding RS vs. Fox parts situation? While I haven't looked into how many replacement parts are available for Fox products, just the fact that each product requires multiple hundreds of euros in custom tools to be able to service it is an utter no go compared to how easy it is to service RS stuff. The guides are also much more clear than they are for Fox products. One saving grace is the fact that with Fox you buy separate service kits for the lowers, damper and the spring while a 200h kit for RS forks is...

11/16/2023 11:48pm half of your comments are "hehe i know something you guys don't but I'm not telling you" we get it, you're an "industry insider", but could you either drop the pre-schooler attitude or just not say anything unless you can/want to contribute?

11/16/2023 11:43pm Also, is the price not a good enough factor? We're talking about the neighbourhood of 3 to 4 grand of difference after all... EDIT: went investigating. The 36 pounder is the 140 works model. Like Dave mentioned, carbon frame, DT XMC 1501 carbon rims, trail (-ish) tyres, Fox 34, inline shock and a full XX, possibly even SL, transmission. And 180 mm rotors. 36 pounds is apparently 16,4 kg in normal units. At 17,5 kg I'm currently running an all aluminium pedal bike at 180/180 mm of travel with a Zeb and a Super Deluxe, 200 mm rotors front and...

11/14/2023 1:15pm I was just in Bentonville, Arkansas this past weekend. The self proclaimed "Mountain Bike Capital of the World". The mix on the trails was about 80% E-Bike. And to be fair an E-bike is absolutely the right tool for the job for the majority of the trail hubs. The industry sees the writing on the wall. Long travel bikes without motors are a terrible purchase for almost anyone, but a motor bike with a 170mm Coil and 180mm up front and you have a party machine that can get you anywhere. There will always be bicycles for those who enjoy...

11/14/2023 1:09pm https://www.pinkbike.com/news/sram-patent-shows-smarter-built-in-shockw… I knew this one coming, it felt like Shockwiz and Flight Attendant were both Proof of Concept products before they would be combined and integrated into suspension products. Going out on a limb here...I could see the future of this tied to your Garmin/GPS computer, the same way I download Routes from RidewithGPS or Trail Forks and load them on my Garmin before I ride new trail systems, you'll also be able to download settings/tune for a specific trail. In the AXS app, you'll program in your height, weight, frame, wheel size, tires, and riding style. The ShockWiz will...

11/8/2023 2:18pm Nah dude. It just isn't funny. Neither the original post or your response. Saying as much isn't being "woke", and the need to bring up being anti-"woke" every time the majority of reasonable people deem something inane is the most unintentionally ironic "snowflake" behavior. I know you don't want to be a snowflake. Back to rumors please. Kade to join Deathgrip on the ultimate free-racer squad.
