He clearly did not leave by choice. Hope Mondraker forever regrets letting him go. Really hope he finds a company that will provide him with a great bike that is already "finished" and not another team developing for years just to drop out when the Bike is finally done. But more than that I hope he gets Paid! and I really hope has a great season.

And Frameworks is Conti, Gwin is E-Thirteen. I think Neko is committed to Conti. But tire sponsors can change for 2026. Hopefully Dak tells us what's up in a few days. Although if he plays us for a month or so it would be funny. 😄

I'm pretty sure Cam and his brother knew, or at least had a good idea, of what needed to be done as a business. This wasn't their first venture. Given what we've seen recently, it sounds like the potential of the US market was realized and they wanted more control, and the profits, of it..

Didn't Dak confirm at the beginning of last season that the team would be on the full SRAM/RockShox suite of parts for 2026? I thought that was semi-openly acknowledged long ago. Regardless, 69 runs in 3 days... Hope Dunne doesn't injure himself or burn out with that kind of pre-season intensity. Looking forward to seeing what kind of pace he brings to the World Cups.

I believe it's hard to put the blame on anyone specific. It's also not always fair to wonder, "what they were thinking". There are no hard feelings or criticism from our side towards anyone of our partners who might have forecasted too high, because it is our call to interprete these forecasts for ourselves. We have outstanding and strong relationships with all of our partners. Many of these relationships go way back. What I was trying to say with my post was that this was an extremely unreal situation everyone suddenly found themselves in. And it was naturally going to...

If you want to know the defnition of what a forecast is, I cna try to explain in my own words (that is how we work with forecasts and does not need to apply for others): For starters, we are an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) for many brands. That means that companies buy our products to put them on their complete bikes. Usually, before the beginning of a new year or model year, our customers will provide us with an estimate of their complete demand for a certain period of time. This estimate is called a forecast. This forecast can...

To be fair, Intense seemed it was going to pull out of the WC racing circuit after Gwin to focus on US racing, and it seems Breeden created the opportunity to continue. Given the pull out of the European market, it seems this is the right approach and strategy for them. I hope they make it through and with nice releases like the new Spider and coming updated Tazer, perhaps they will make it back to the WC circuit in the future.

Note that even though they use the same bearings, the 20mm is apparently a different shell than the 15mm. This means you can convert the 20mm >> 15mm with just different axle/endcaps (same bearings), but not the other way around afaik. Here is the response I got from Thomas @ i9 when I inquired about converting my 20mm: " Those 20mm 1/1 fronts are based on an entirely different hubshell than the standard 15mm boost ones. To convert that down to a 15x110, you would actually use Hydra parts: HAX2600 axle and HKMA03 endcaps. The bearing spec would remain the...

Rode my Hightower V2 three seasons in the bike park. Had a great time. Keep hearing “there’s nothing like riding a downhill bike”. I believed the hype and bought a V10.8 in 2024. They were right.

My predictions for 26: 1. More bike shop closures. I think it's inevitable at this point. We're seeing a large number of shops closing on the powersports end. Dealers who've been in business for 50+ years too. If not closing they're getting gobbled up by larger chain ops. They're citing a number of factors and one of the bigger (if not biggest) is falling consumer confidence. I think decades of stagnant wages compared to inflation really hits hard at what was the middleclass. The opportunity is there for growth of service based retailers, but for large swaths that will be a...

On the same note, the companies have to be realistic with pre-order expectations. Typically, the shop puts in the order they want and the reps comeback asking for more.. One dangerous act I saw at a former employer was the rep came in with a suggested order and one of the owners didn't even question it. After the senior parter booted him, an inventory was done and it was quickly found out why they were so deep in the hole to the big red S.. Hell, day one when I went into the store that I would eventually manage, they...
