6/10/2024 11:56pm I felt for Jordan when Lachlan came down and put five seconds on him. Thats a lot of emotions and questioning while a camera is pointed at you. Athletes always deserve a grace period of "bad" behavior after winning or losing. How they are interacting in the beer tent is a better judge of character.

6/10/2024 11:09pm I am running the catalyst one currently and have a few friends running them as well, they are relatively similar feeling to the HS2 but are cheaper. MSRP in Canadian dollar is 91$ for 200mm HS2 and 63$ for 203mm Catalyst One.

6/9/2024 5:09am just got audio message from jack, who asa was chatting to at the finish line. off camera asa was red flagged in the woods, so he stopped. no apparent reason for the red flag. no re-run for asa as per officials. assumed b/c tv/race schedule is on the line. maybe there's an explanation from the officials or something at some point, but that's what we have so far.

6/9/2024 4:56am Not sure what it's like in the Southern Hemisphere, but up top in the UK the margins (gross) are still good (unless they're just trying to punt inventory). Costs at OEM level are ridiculous. If you add everything up on your bike it looks like a great deal at RRP, but a fraction of that will have been paid for all those shiny parts at the factory. Even at wholesale prices (what the distributor buys it for, before they sell it at trade to shops) the margins are still pretty good on most brands (excluding Fox who are still tiny)...

6/6/2024 3:15pm to me it looks more like MotoGP bikes controls. How top athletes like Bruni process information at the speed they're going is pretty nuts!

6/1/2024 7:18am Sorry, wrong study, but acute damage is not what's worrying anyways, you typically can still function after long day of riding right? This is the right study and I will repost the right link in the first post too.https://www.napier.ac.uk/-/media/worktribe/output-1822898/elite-mountai…

5/31/2024 1:59pm I struggled with arm pump for years racing motocross but have never suffered actual arm pump on a mountain bike. Arm pump where you cannot pull the clutch lever enough to shift gears. Coming down the hill at Glen Helen moto 2 at 4pm is a come to Jesus moment when you have real arm pump. As I got older I paid more attention to my body position, technique, and strength training rather than just pinning it everywhere trying to beat the kid that had the nicer motorhome so my dad wouldn't hit me with the pit broom lol. Bar...

5/24/2024 8:39pm It's only telemetry if it comes from the telemetry region of France; otherwise it's just sparkling data acquisition. But actually: If the data being collected aren't also being transmitted, it isn't telemetry.

5/23/2024 11:58pm The rules around this seem very ambiguous (or people at the UCI aren't clear on what telemetry actually is). By the letter of the rules it seems fine but I know Nick at Downamics/MucOff Younguns has inquired several times about running our data acquisition systems (which have no transmission ability) for race runs and has been refused. It's now a situation where you can run electronic suspension which collects data AND acts on it while not being able to just collect data. Feels a bit inconsistent to me.

5/23/2024 11:51pm A couple thoughts: First I don't think the race format and the broadcast has anything to do with the audience.. The problem is not the engagement or the retention but the awareness.. There are just not enough people aware of the sports and the athletes... hiding the final behind a paywall on only one platform is never going to help.. I would reckon the finals should be available for free on YouTube and everywhere possible with tons of highlights, shorts, memes, and whatnot then maybe WB could try to monetize for behind-the-scenes, exclusive content, live content, replay of all categories...

5/23/2024 10:08am B Practice from Poland is live! We start with Dak breaking down the highs and lows of his weekend and what happened in that darn left turn. As always, he's got some rad insight into his headspace when things don't go exactly to plan.

5/23/2024 9:54am Not magically, but maybe with 10 years of hard work, developing your race craft, etc you can get there. https://www.rootsandrain.com/rider63964/dakotah-norton/results/filters/… If the last 10 years was limited to just the top 20 or 30 guys racing, I don't see how Dak gets to where he is today.

5/23/2024 3:55am I don't think there's an issue with the cameras, sure commenting could be better, and season schedule and venues could be distributed more globally. These are all things that take a lot of logistics and training on to make better, which (fingers crossed) will come. My big concern is access and hype about this. Very limited numbers of official videos on youtube before/ during a race weekend for any MTB sport these days, and wtf is up with viewing access to the races? Most of the positive experiences with WBD seem to be coming from Americans who have Max, but...
