1/23/2024 5:29pm Your question about trail damage was always a concern I had with the added traffic of eBikes and the fact that one person alone can now hit the same trail 4x what they could on a regular bike in a single day. But what I have seen (as recently as this past weekend) is the outpouring of support from the eMTB community to pitch in and do trail work. All of these guys and gals were riders before they got eBikes, but very few did any trail work simply because of the time it takes to hike up trail or...

1/22/2024 5:34pm regardless of what the clowns say, its only time when you start valuing the Fun aspect of MTB more, Hate towards ebikers is pathetic, they just want to enjoy themselves without busting their ass for atleast a year and then still get out done by ebikers in both climbing and fun. I will often buy an ebike for the winter, so i can ride at night much easier and quicker.

1/22/2024 5:04pm When I first heard about e-bikes, I didn't really understand their purpose. I even went so far as to think they didn't appeal to me--why would I want or need motor assistance? Like many voices in the forums, I figured e-bikes were something I'd wait to ride until I was old or unhealthy. Thankfully, I occasionally rode with some local bike shop guys who convinced me to give the emtb a try. Now I'm fully hooked. I am not the old, injured, unhealthy, or inexperienced rider so many believe the "typical" emtb rider should be--I'm in my mid-thirties and in...

1/22/2024 5:01pm It sounds like many people are riding ebikes because of the lack of fitness or times or because they don't like to pedal. I ride one because I want to improve my fitness and want to pedal more. I'm racing XC and my ebike is one of the best tool I have for training. It's not secret that to improve fitness, you need to follow a structured training and ride at some specific intensity. Where I live it's impossible on a mountain bike. climbs are steep and my heart immediatly goes thru the roof. The only solution do do a...

1/22/2024 7:05am Most ebikes have a walk mode that allows you to hike a bike but i just manhandle the bike, thats part of the ride and good exercise. for what it's worth, we've been building trails that cater to ebikes, steep ups and downs, some hike a bike because they're too steep to pedal up. Not sure about your range, temperature plays big part, though. I noticed I was getting significantly less range when it gets close to 40F. When I ride Sky Tavern, I can get in 8 laps in 2 hours and about 5k of vertical, mostly in trail...

10/12/2023 6:08pm Just about every brand now sells direct, coming from a Yeti dealer and 10+ year industry employee, it's the way the industry has been going for years, you dont adapt you get passed. Yeti can offer a better retail price (getting below Specialized MSRP) and lots of Yeti customers will still go to a shop as that is just the type of consumer they are. Don't think it will be a huge difference in the long game

10/5/2023 9:16am I have been riding motorcycles for 40 years. E mtbs are nothing like a motorcycle. I get a great workout and cover 4x the distance in the same amount of time on mine. Time to retire that argument. Love not get annoyed by biting flies on the climbs too. Underrated benefit IMO

Guess what? None of this is about you or for you. And I’m using ‘you’ both personally and as a larger term for 30-45 year old historically stereotypical males of mountain biking, which I assume you largely are. This line of clothing was not designed for you. This marketing campaign wasn’t derived to appeal to you. Not everything within bicycling has to be for you or about you. And when it is not about you, you do not need to respond and complain because it doesn’t fit your view of what should be happening.

11/17/2022 9:20am why is it up to vital to apply price pressure? we're not yeti's customer, and they're not ours (they do not advertise). let their bikes sit on the floor and collect dust if they don't sell b/c of the outrageous prices. if there are riders willing to part with TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS for a mountain bike, that's up to them. there are people who have that kind of money and choose to spend it, so we're not going to say a bike sucks on the trail or shouldn't be considered just because of the cost or inflated price-to-component spec. like...

Jason_Schroeder Liked a forum topic World Cup Prize Money Needs to Increase
9/26/2022 7:24pm In the last B Practice Podcast, we discussed Dakotah Norton’s 3rd place podium at the Val di Sole World Cup, and in particular, his take-home prize money. Hilariously enough, Dak forgot to claim his winnings until we brought it up during the podcast. Hopefully, he has followed up with that because for being 3rd fastest on the day, he earned himself 1,250€, or $1,211 USD. You might think, “Dang, that isn’t much money for a podium finish at a World Cup.” And I would completely agree. In fact, the UCI only pays prize money for 1st - 10th (per round...

9/11/2022 7:34pm It seems lost on some here that the riders at Hardline are there because they want to be. None of them are being compelled to do anything they don't want to. Watch the vlogs available, they're stoked. If someone (such as Kolb) decides it's too much no one is throwing shade on them, their decisions are respected. If a feature is deemed unsafe it's immediately altered (which doesn't always happen at WCDH races). It amazes me how many people think they have a better idea than the riders themselves about what they should and shouldn't be riding. They know exactly...

9/10/2022 10:17am Dan Atherton is definitely pushing these athletes, these dudes are gnarly, as a spectator though it seems more like a progression session for the athletes with a race thrown on the end. These riders are the best in the world and they’ll no when something is too far.
